      I bokmål og nynorsk finst det ein god del substantiv som er normerte med to eller tre genus (grammatiske kjønn). Denne valfridomen er undersøkt med utgangspunkt i tekstane som er samla i høvesvis Leksikografisk bokmålskorpus og Norsk Ordboks Nynorskkorpus. I denne første runden har eg teke meg av substantiv som har valfritt hankjønn eller inkjekjønn som genus, som t.d. smil og aluminium.
