Normalhistologi hos oppdrettet rognkjeks (Cyclopterus lumpus L.). Med fokus på organene hud, gjeller, hjerte, nyre, milt, pankreas og lever
(Master thesis; Mastergradsoppgave, 2019-05-15)
Lumpfish (Cylcopterus lumpus) is increasingly used as cleaner fish in intensive farming of Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) with an aim to control the infection of lice on the salmon. The lumpfish is itself exposed to a number of infections, both bacterial, viral, parasitic and fungal, and there is still a lack of knowledge regarding these infections and their impact on the fish. In order to assess the ...
Havfarm 3: Governmentally driven innovations in Norwegian aquaculture. A challenge for the governing system?
(Master thesis; Mastergradsoppgave, 2019-05-15)
The Norwegian aquaculture industry is today experiencing increasing demands of Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar L.) from global markets. However, past years has not seen the same rise in production as in value. In a time where several area and environmental-related challenges are hindering further growth of the Norwegian aquaculture industry, the development licenses have become the latest licensing ...
Institutional aspects of the fisheries management among the Sami people living in the Murmansk region
(Master thesis; Mastergradsoppgave, 2019-05-15)
This master thesis will consider the institutional aspects of traditional fisheries regulation among the small Indigenous minorities of the North, Siberia and the Far East of Russia, using the Kola Sámi settled in Murmansk region as case. The thesis studies the potential for influence of local institutions on the traditional fisheries management. Based on documents and internet sources the thesis ...
Rising temperatures in a subarctic lake lead to increased somatic growth rates for Arctic charr (Salvelinus alpinus, (L.))
(Master thesis; Mastergradsoppgave, 2019-05-15)
Cold water species living at high latitudes are expected to respond rapidly to climate change due to their sensitivity to increasing temperature. Water temperature strongly affects the ecology of fish, influencing food intake and conversion, and ultimately somatic growth rate. In a lake, somatic growth rates will also be contingent on food availability, which is negatively affected by fish abundance. ...
Seeking to legitimize: Social sustainability and legitimacy in the Traffic Light System
(Master thesis; Mastergradsoppgave, 2019-05-15)
Over the last 50 years, the management needs of the Norwegian aquaculture industry have become increasingly complex. The stakeholders in the management vary diversely from environmental agencies and NGOs, to local and national governmental bodies, to those operating the farms themselves. Consequently, the establishment of the Traffic Light System as a management tool has been a long and challenging ...
Antimikrobielle forbindelser i sjøstjernen Asterias rubens og sjøpølsen Cucumaria frondosa.
(Master thesis; Mastergradsoppgave, 2019-05-15)
Organismer ...
Large volume cryopreservation of lumpfish (Cyclopterus lumpus L.) sperm for commercial hatchery production
(Master thesis; Mastergradsoppgave, 2019-06-03)
The growing Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) aquaculture production is confronted with many challenges that limit the potential development of the industry. The major current problem threatening the salmon aquaculture production is the parasitic sea lice (Lepeophtheirus salmonis) that negatively affects both cultured salmon and wild stock populations. Several treatment options have failed to deliver ...
Expression of Secondary Metabolite Gene Clusters and Production of Secondary Metabolites in Three Nostoc strains Subjected to Deprivation on Nutrients and Competition
(Master thesis; Mastergradsoppgave, 2019-05-15)
Cyanobacteria are a unique source of natural products, where most of them are synthesized by non-ribosomal peptide synthase, polyketide synthase, or a hybrid of these pathways. The identification of such biosynthetic genes responsible for the production of secondary metabolites is still a relatively unexplored area, and it remains many natural products for which a biosynthetic origin is unknown. ...
Lys- og saltbehandling av to størrelsesgrupper lakseunger (Salmo salar L.). Smoltifisering i ferskvann og prestasjon i sjøvann.
(Master thesis; Mastergradsoppgave, 2019-05-14)
(Master thesis; Mastergradsoppgave, 2019-05-30)
Sammendrag
Denne masteroppgaven omhandler innovasjon i klyngeprosjekt i distriktene. ...
