Two-sided estimates of the Lebesgue constants with respect to Vilenkin systems and applications
(Journal article; Peer reviewed; Tidsskriftartikkel, 2017-03-13)
In this paper, we derive two-sided estimates of the Lebesgue constants for bounded Vilenkin systems, we also present some applications of importance, e.g., we obtain a characterization for the boundedness of a subsequence of partial sums with respect to Vilenkin–Fourier series of H 1 martingales in terms of n's variation. The conditions given in this paper are in a sense necessary and sufficient.
Scenario-based approaches for handling uncertainty in MPC for power system frequency control
(Journal article; Peer reviewed; Tidsskriftartikkel, 2017)
A stochastic nonlinear model predictive controller (SNMPC) is designed for automatic generator control of a proxy of the Nordic power system, and it is compared with a multi-stage nonlinear model predictive controller (MNMPC). Both controllers are scenario based, but originate in two different disturbance modeling paradigms; stochastic and deterministic. A simulation study indicates that the two ...
Lagrangian and ALE Formulations For Soil Structure Coupling with Explosive Detonation
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2017)
Simulation of Soil-Structure Interaction becomes more and more the focus
of computational engineering in civil and mechanical engineering, where
FEM (Finite element Methods) for soil and structural mechanics and Finite
Volume for CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) are dominant. New
advanced formulations have been developed for FSI (Fluid Structure
Interaction) applications using ALE (Arbitrary ...
Recognizing Bedside Events Using Thermal and Ultrasonic Readings
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2017-06-09)
Falls in homes of the elderly, in residential care facilities and in hospitals commonly
occur in close proximity to the bed. Most approaches for recognizing falls use cameras, which
challenge privacy, or sensor devices attached to the bed or the body to recognize bedside events and
bedside falls. We use data collected from a ceiling mounted 80 60 thermal array combined with
an ultrasonic sensor ...
Efficient Distributed Localization Algorithm for Ownership Identification of Reindeer Calf Using Wireless Sensor Networks
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel, 2017)
This paper presents a distributed algorithm for identifying the ownership of new-born reindeer calves using wireless sensor networks (WSNs). Reindeer are semi wild animals giving birth while in the wild. Although reindeer cows usually carry identification tags or signs of their owners, it is difficult to identify the ownership of the calves within a mixed herd. Currently, identification is performed ...
Some new Two-Sided Inequalities concerning the Fourier Transform
(Journal article; Peer reviewed; Tidsskriftartikkel, 2017)
The classical Hausdorff-Young and Hardy-Littlewood-Stein inequalities do not hold for p > 2. In this paper we prove that if we restrict to net spaces we can even derive a two-sided estimate for all p > 1. In particular, this result generalizes a recent result by Liflyand E. and Tikhonov S. [7] (MR 2464253).
A multi-objective location-allocation optimization for sustainable management of municipal solid waste
(Journal article; Peer reviewed; Tidsskriftartikkel, 2017-02-13)
The location problem of treatment and service facilities in municipal solid waste (MSW) management system is of significant importance due to the socioeconomic and environmental concerns. The consideration of waste treatment costs, environmental impact, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, social fairness as well as other relevant aspects should be simultaneously taken into account when a MSW management ...
Fejér and Hermite-Hadamard Type Inequalities for N-Quasiconvex Functions
(Journal article; Peer reviewed; Tidsskriftartikkel, 2017-12-28)
Some new extensions and re finements of Hermite – Hadamard and Fejer type inequalities for functions which are N -quasiconvex are derived and discussed.
Potential type operators in PDEs and their applications
(Journal article; Peer reviewed; Tidsskriftartikkel, 2017-01)
We prove the boundedness of Potential operator in weighted generalized Morrey space in terms of Matuszewska-Orlicz indices of weights and apply this result to the Hemholtz equation in ℝ3 with a free term in such a space. We also give a short overview of some typical situations when Potential type operators arise when solving PDEs.
Study of the required thermal insulation (IREQ) of clothing using infrared imaging
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2017)
The sense of cold develops due to the increase in heat loss from a human body. Excessive cold can be a health hazard, since excessive heat loss from the body may result in hypothermia/frostbite. Decreased body temperature due to heat loss also affects the physical, manual and perceptive performance of individuals. Therefore, protective measures are taken through clothing that controls and regulates ...
