The development of the Internet and the World Wide Web has given libraries many new opportunities to disseminate organized information about internal and external collections to users. One of these possibilities is to make separate databases for information or services not sufficiently covered by the online public access catalog (OPAC) or other available databases. What’s new is that librarians can now create and maintain these databases and make them user-friendly. Library-generated databases can be available to users at home and at the office. In addition, these databases can become powerful information serv¬ices by linking to other databases, services, or information on the Internet.en
