    • Technical Viewpoint of Challenges, Opportunities, and Future Directions of Policy Change and Information-Flow in Digital Healthcare Systems

Elgazazz, Areeg Samir Ahmed; Johansen, Håvard D. (Chapter; Bokkapittel, 2022)
Digital healthcare systems often run on heterogeneous devices in a distributed multi-cluster environment, and maintain their healthcare policies for managing data, securing information flow, and controlling interactions among systems components. As healthcare systems become more digitally distributed, lack of integration and safe interpretation between heterogeneous systems clusters become ...
    • Tectonic environment, geochemistry and petrology of the Tromsøysound iron ore

Pettersen, Eirik (Master thesis; Mastergradsoppgave, 2013-11-15)
The geochemistry, mineralogy and associated basic rocks of the Tromsøysound iron ore field was studied for this thesis. The iron ore field is located in the Tromsø Nappe an ultra-high-pressure terrain in Troms, Northern-Norway, and has undergone some partial melting and metasomatism. The ore mineral is magnetite. The tectonic environment is investigated but inconclusive.

    • The tectonized central peak of the Mjølnir Impact Crater, Barents Sea

Corseri, Romain; Gac, Sebastien; Faleide, Jan Inge; Planke, Sverre (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2019-12-04)
The Mjølnir structure, SW Barents Sea, is one of the best-preserved marine impact craters on Earth. After impact on the paleo-seafloor about 142 Ma ago, this crater experienced an atypical deformation of its central peak, which is now elevated ~435 m above the crater rims. Here, we investigate the effect of far-field tectonic stresses on the central peak uplift based on interpretation of new ...
    • Tectono-metamorphic evolution of metasedimentary host rocks of ultramafic rocks in the Heidal/Sel Group, Trondheim Nappe Complex, Folldal: mineralogical and micro-textural changes during the Scandian thrusting

Baug, Christian (Master thesis; Mastergradsoppgave, 2018-11-15)
Abstract Several ultramafic outcrops are located along a specific tectono-stratigraphic unit in the Trondheim Nappe Complex, Central Scandinavian Caledonides. The relative timing and kinematics of these rocks are investigated by the use of structural, petrographical and mineralogical data from its host rocks. The metasedimentary host rocks are part of the Sel and Heidal Groups of the Røros and ...

Percival, Jack James; Konopásek, Jiří; Anczkiewicz, Robert; Ganerød, Morgan; Slama, Jiri; Campos, Roberto Sacks de; Bitencourt, Maria de Fatima (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2022-01-27)
The Dom Feliciano Belt in southern Brazil and Uruguay represents the western half of a Neoproterozoic orogenic belt located in the southern portion of the South Atlantic Neoproterozoic Orogenic System. Current interpretations are divided as to the nature of orogenesis in this belt, in part owing to lacking geochronological constraints. Metamorphosed and deformed supracrustal sequences of the Brusque ...

    • Telemedicine Services for the Arctic: A systematic review

Woldaregay, Ashenafi Zebene; Walderhaug, Ståle; Hartvigsen, Gunnar (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2017-06-28)
Background: Telemedicine services have been successfully used in areas where there are adequate infrastructures such as reliable power and communication lines. However, despite the increasing number of merchants and seafarers, maritime and Arctic telemedicine have had limited success. This might be linked with various factors such as lack of good infrastructure, lack of trained onboard personnel, ...
    • A Telemedicine System Intervention for Patients With Type 1 Diabetes: Pilot Feasibility Crossover Intervention Study

Vlasakova, Martina; Muzik, Jan; Holubova, Anna; Fiala, Dominik; Årsand, Eirik; Urbanová, Jana; Žďárská, Denisa Janíčková; Brabec, Marek; Brož, Jan (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2023-04-28)
Background: Today’s diabetes-oriented telemedicine systems can gather and analyze many parameters like blood glucose levels, carbohydrate intake, insulin doses, and physical activity levels (steps). Information collected can be presented to patients in a variety of graphical outputs. Despite the availability of several technical means, a large percentage of patients do not reach the goals established ...

    • Temperature adaptation of DNA ligases from psychrophilic organisms

Berg, Kristel; Leiros, Ingar; Williamson, Adele Kim (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2019-03-02)
DNA ligases operating at low temperatures have potential advantages for use in biotechnological applications. For this reason, we have characterized the temperature optima and thermal stabilities of three minimal Lig E-type ATP-dependent DNA ligase originating from Gram-negative obligate psychrophilic bacteria. The three ligases, denoted Vib-Lig, Psy-Lig, and Par-Lig, show a remarkable range of ...
    • Temperature and thermal emission of cosmic dust around the Sun, Vega and Fomalhaut

Myrvang, Margaretha (Master thesis; Mastergradsoppgave, 2018-05-14)
Many stars are known to have dust disks, which are created through collisions between planetesimals, comparable to comets and asteroids in our solar system. Cosmic dust around a star absorbs electromagnetic radiation and re-radiates at a longer wavelength, determined by its temperature. The thermal emission of the dust can be observed. In certain systems, including the solar system, some of the dust ...

This thesis is part of a project that aims to develop a sensor for the detection of methane in the air and in water based on a waveguide Mach-Zehnder interferometer. The main application of this sensor is monitoring the environment and the ability to detect a leakage of methane. The development of a sensor includes analysis of operational conditions. In this project one of the greatest concerns is ...
    • Temperature-driven variation in the removal of heavy metals from contaminated tailings leaching in northern Norway

Fu, Shuai; Lu, Jinmei (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2019-01-31)
High amounts of tailings with a low recycling rate are generated during mining and smelting processes, and a lot of environmental problems were caused by heavy metal leaching from tailings. Temperature is a key point in heavy metals leaching, and knowing the effects of temperature on tailings leaching is useful for tailings management. A small-scale batch leaching experiment was conducted at different ...

The hydrodynamic mechanisms responsible for the genesis and facies variability of shallow‐marine sandstone storm deposits (tempestites) have been intensely debated, with particular focus on hummocky cross‐stratification. Despite being ubiquitously utilized as diagnostic elements of high‐energy storm events, the full formative process spectrum of tempestites and hummocky cross‐stratification is still ...

Berndt, Christian; Feseker, Tomas; Treude, Tina; Krastel, Sebastien; Liebetrau, Volker; Niemann, Helge; Bertics, Victoria; Dumke, Ines; Dünnbier, Karolin; Ferré, Benedicte; Graves, Carolyn; Gross, Felix; Hissmann, Karen; Hühnerbach, Veit; Krause, Stefan; Lieser, Kathrin; Schauer, Jürgen; Steinle, Lea (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2014-01-17)
Methane hydrate is an icelike substance that is stable at high pressure and low temperature in continental margin sediments. Since the discovery of a large number of gas flares at the landward termination of the gas hydrate stability zone off Svalbard, there has been concern that warming bottom waters have started to dissociate large amounts of gas hydrate and that the resulting methane release may ...
