The study contains operational and economic information regarding the SPF in Benguela and Namibe fishing towns, for 2014. The 28 distinct purse-seiners represent 48% of the fleet population and contribute with about 54% of landings. Most vessels vary with respect to physical and operational characteristics, how these variations may have affected the vessels performance and productivity is the subject matter of this paper. For analysis and comparison purpose, the fleet was stratified by fishing towns (Namibe and Benguela), and vessel engine groups. To assess the economic performance, the following indicators were measured: EBITDA (net revenue); OCFM; OM and ROC. To assess productivity, the following indicators were considered: CPUE; AC(E); AR(E), and liters of fuel per ton of fish landed. In addition, environmental efficiency in terms of CO2 emitted per liters of fuel burned in fishing operations; and operating costs structures are presented. Results: Most vessels in both fleets recovered their annual operating costs; EPI were higher in vessels with 400<HP≤700 in Benguela, and HP>700 in Namibe fleet; Vessels in Namibe were more cost and fuel efficiency than those in Benguela, in particular those with HP>700. Vessels in Benguela operated with higher labour cost particularly HP>700 group.en_US
