Environmental parasitology: stressor effects on aquatic parasites
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2023-04-14)Anthropogenic stressors are causing fundamental changes in aquatic habitats and to the organisms inhabiting these ecosystems. Yet, we are still far from understanding the diverse responses of parasites and their hosts to these environmental stressors and predicting how these stressors will affect host–parasite communities. Here, we provide an overview of the impacts of major stressors affecting ... -
Well-posedness of heat and wave equations generated by Rubin’s q-difference operator in Sobolev spaces
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2023)In this paper, we investigate difference-differential operators of parabolic and hyperbolic types. Namely, we considern on-homogenous heat and wave equations for Rubin’s difference operator. Wellposedness results are obtained in appropriate Sobolev type spaces. In particular, we prove that the heat and wave equations generated by Rubin’s difference operator have unique solutions. We even show that ... -

The submarine fault scarp of the 2011 Tohoku-oki Earthquake in the Japan Trench
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2023-12-26)Rupture of the plate boundary fault during the 2011 Tohoku-oki earthquake with moment magnitude 9.0 is thought to have propagated to the trench. Surface exposure of the fault has not yet been confirmed because of great depths that are challenging to access and study. Using a manned submersible in the Japan Trench, we explored and visually assessed the seafloor near the epicenter. On the eastern slope ... -
From machine learning to classroom learning: mobile vowels and the Russian preposition v ‘in(to)’
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2023)The present study reports on a machine learning experiment concerning mobile vowels in the Russian preposition v ‘in(to)’. It is shown that a neural network is able to predict mobile vowels in 97.4% of the cases in our dataset, and a decision tree is used to extract a set of three rules that a language learner can use to achieve nearly the same level of accuracy. We argue that these rules are ... -
Sentrale funn er at diagnose oppleves ... -
Analysen ... -

We included 25 studies from 1737 citations ... -
A Deep Diagnostic Framework Using Explainable Artificial Intelligence and Clustering
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2023-11-09)An important part of diagnostics is to gain insight into properties that characterize a disease. Machine learning has been used for this purpose, for instance, to identify biomarkers in genomics. However, when patient data are presented as images, identifying properties that characterize a disease becomes far more challenging. A common strategy involves extracting features from the images and ... -

Polyethylene glycol (PEG) as a broad applicability marker for LC–MS/MS-based biodistribution analysis of nanomedicines
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2024-01-13)Polyethylene glycol (PEG) conjugation (PEGylation) is a well-established strategy to improve the pharmacokinetic and biocompatibility properties of a wide variety of nanomedicines and therapeutic peptides and proteins. This broad use makes PEG an attractive ‘allround’ candidate marker for the biodistribution of such PEGylated compounds. This paper presents the development of a novel strategy for ... -
Educational patterns of health behaviors and body mass index: A longitudinal multiple correspondence analysis of a middle-aged general population, 2007-2016
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2023-12-01)Social differences in body mass index and health behaviors are a major public health challenge. The uneven distribution of unhealthy body mass index and of unhealthy behaviors such as smoking, physical inactivity, and harmful alcohol consumption has been shown to mediate social inequalities in chronic diseases. While differential exposures to these health variables have been investigated, the ... -
Forskjeller i mortalitet hos traumepasienter

Orchestration within plastics governance – From global to Arctic
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2023-10-28)The lack of coordinated global regulation of plastics with drivers such as increasing production and poor waste management continue to bring vast amounts of plastic pollution into our environments. Plastics are transboundary with often a complex value chain in production, use and waste handling and, until now, a fragmented regulatory response on how to solve this crisis. We utilize Abbott and Bernstein ... -
