Stress granules and mTOR are regulated by membrane atg8ylation during lysosomal damage
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2022)We report that lysosomal damage is a hitherto unknown inducer of stress granule (SG) formation and that the process termed membrane atg8ylation coordinates SG formation with mTOR inactivation during lysosomal stress. SGs were induced by lysosomedamaging agents including SARS-CoV-2ORF3a, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, and proteopathic tau. During damage, mammalian ATG8s directly interacted with the ... -
Comparison of the Influence of Internalized Homonegativity on Sexual Risk Behavior of Men Who Have Sex with Men in Spain and Turkey
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2022-07-11)Objectives: This study aimed to understand how the association between internalized homonegativity (IH) and sexual risk behavior differed in Spain (N = 3,336) and Turkey (N = 550). Methods: We used multigroup structural equation modeling. Results: HIV and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) knowledge mediated the relationship between IH and sexual risk behavior among MSM in Spain, but not among men in ... -
Gendered self-views across 62 countries: A test of competing models
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2022-11-07)Social role theory posits that binary gender gaps in agency and communion should be larger in less egalitarian countries, reflecting these countries’ more pronounced sex-based power divisions. Conversely, evolutionary and self-construal theorists suggest that gender gaps in agency and communion should be larger in more egalitarian countries, reflecting the greater autonomy support and flexible ... -
Metapopulation regulation acts at multiple spatial scales: Insights from a century of seabird colony census data
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2023-02-27)Density-dependent feedback is recognized as important regulatory mechanisms of population size. Considering the spatial scales over which such feedback operates has advanced our theoretical understanding of metapopulation dynamics. Yet, metapopulation models are rarely fit to time-series data and tend to omit details of the natural history and behavior of long-lived, highly mobile species such as ... -
Lean Production – One path to organizational Resilience?
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2022-11-07)In this indepth singlecase study from a large international aerospace and defence company, we ask the following research question: In what ways does lean production influence organizational resilience? Our findings suggest that various lean practices, such as lean meetings, using lean tools and a lean productioninspired organizational culture promote the development of organizational capabilities ... -

Nanofiltration of intake water in RAS: Effect on fish performance, health and welfare
(Research report; Forskningsrapport, 2022)The experiment tested the effect of nanomembrane filtration in RAS on the salmon's physiology, welfare and growth. A specially designed membrane was used to remove sulphate from seawater and to adjust salinity from 32 to 12 ‰. A RAS where salinity was adjusted to 12 ‰ by mixing raw seawater and freshwater was used as control. The fish were kept in the two systems for 10 weeks before being ... -
Knowledge base for the Erasmus+ project Voices of Women (VOW)
(Research report; Forskningsrapport, 2022-11-23)This report builds the knowledge base for the transnational educational project ‘Voices of Women’ (https://voicesofwomen.eu) funded by the European Union. The report situates the VOW project within music and gender research in Norway, The Netherlands, and Germany. It argues for the need to educate agents of change and outlines the VOW approach along four pillars: (1) Performative Research (2) Unheard ... -
Screening Programme 2021
(Research report; Forskningsrapport, 2022-08-30)The Screening Programme 2021 was carried out by the Norwegian Institute for Water Research (NIVA) and NILU-Norwegian Institute for Air Research. The spotlight was placed on the occurrence and possible environmental problems of 218 chemicals. The selected substances may be included in numerous products and their usage patterns are not easily defined so an array of different locations and sample-types ... -

The Norwegian river monitoring programme 2021 – water quality status and trends
(Research report; Forskningsrapport, 2022-06-27)In the Norwegian River Monitoring Programme (in Norwegian: Elveovervåkingsprogrammet) 20 rivers along the Norwegian coast are monitored for physical and chemical parameters. This report presents the current status (2021) and long-term (19902021) trends in suspended particles, organic matter, nutrients, and metals. EU Water Framework Directive priority substances and river basin-specific pollutants ... -

Transiently silent acquired antimicrobial resistance: an emerging challenge in susceptibility testing
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2023-01-31)Acquisition and expression of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) mechanisms in bacteria are often associated with a fitness cost. Thus, evolutionary adaptation and fitness cost compensation may support the advance of subpopulations with a silent resistance phenotype when the antibiotic selection pressure is absent. However, reports are emerging on the transient nature of silent acquired AMR, describing ... -
Deposition of cenomanian – Turonian organic-rich units on the mid-Norwegian margin: Controlling factors and regional implications
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2023-01-10)On the mid-Norwegian margin, extensive rifting and subsequent deposition of thick Cretaceous and Cenozoic sediments have buried the traditional Upper Jurassic organic-rich shales too deep. Consequently, these organic-rich shales are overmature and spent in the deep basins on the mid-Norwegian margin. The absence of well-control, variable seismic quality and in particularly, the great burial depth, ... -
Job Satisfaction among Occupational Therapists Employed in Primary Care Services in Norway
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2023-03-13)The aging population will place healthcare services under considerable strain in the years ahead. Occupational therapists play a vital role in securing sustainable healthcare services and are increasingly employed by municipalities. To promote sustainable services, the job satisfaction among core professional groups needs monitoring. A comprehensive cross-sectional survey was distributed among ... -

Insight into the mechanism behind oral bioavailability-enhancement by nanosuspensions through combined dissolution/permeation studies
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2023-03-02)As numerous new drug candidates are poorly water soluble, enabling formulations are needed to increase their bioavailability for oral administration. Nanoparticles are a conceptually simple, yet resource consuming strategy for increasing drug dissolution rate, as predicting in vivo oral absorption using in vitro dissolution remains difficult. The objective of this study was to obtain insight into ... -
