Geomorphology and surficial geology of the Femmilsjøen area, northern Spitsbergen
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2021-03-09)Climate change is amplified in the Arctic, and establishing baseline data for its current character is important. Citrus intake and risk of skin cancer in the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition cohort (EPIC)
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2020-07-24)Citrus intake has been suggested to increase the risk of skin cancer. Although this relation is highly plausible biologically, epidemiologic evidence is lacking. We aimed to examine the potential association between citrus intake and skin cancer risk. EPIC is an ongoing multi-center prospective cohort initiated in 1992 and involving ~ 520,000 participants who have been followed-up in 23 centers from ... -

Association of circulating Vitamin D with colorectal cancer depends on Vitamin D-binding protein isoforms: A pooled, nested, case-control study
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2019-10-15)Background - Higher circulating 25-hydroxyvitamin-D [25(OH)D] concentrations are consistently inversely associated with colorectal cancer (CRC) risk in observational studies. However, it is unknown whether this association depends on the functional GC-rs4588*A (Thr436Lys) variant encoding the vitamin D–binding protein-2 (DBP2) isoform, which may affect vitamin D status and bioavailability.< ... -

Chinese tourism in the Nordic Arctic – opportunities beyond the economic
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2020-03-27)Chinese presence in the Nordic Arctic is increasing, but whereas many large-scale initiatives such as mining projects, trade deals or political alliances have yet to materialise, tourism encounters between Chinese visitors and Nordic Arctic communities are already happening. (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2020-10-13)The number of economics-related articles in the Scandinavian Journal of Hospitality and Tourism (SJHT) has recently increased considerably. Silencing and stimulating the medial amygdala impairs ejaculation but not sexual incentive motivation in male rats
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2021-02-24)The medial amygdala (MeA) is a sexually dimorphic brain region that integrates sensory information and hormonal signaling, and is involved in the regulation of social behaviors.
