The main objective of this thesis is create an empiric study of two regimen verbs in Spanish that are similar in meaning. The verbs are disponer de and constar de. Briefly explained, this thesis contains two vital components of equal importance: i) to better understand the nature of these two verbs and ii) to try to create models with the purpose of explaining how these regimen verbs work. This will be done by analyzing the nouns that follow each verb to see what their similarities and their differences are. The two verbs in question are so called “verbs of possession” and they form a subset of the Spanish verb to have: "tener", and because they are so alike in meaning, a problem of ambiguity arises. To complete the objective of this thesis, a relatively vast dataset is needed. The data will be taken from an online corpus database called Corpus del Español, available online at: corpusdelespanol.org.en_US
