Almenpraktikere i Tromsø registrerte i
tiden 1/10 1981-31/3 1982 forekomsten
av symptomer som samsvarer med
kreftens syv faresignaler hos sine pasienter.
Faresignal ble registrert ved
5,4 % av konsultasjonene. Forekomst av
faresignaler pr. 1 000 konsultasjoner
presenteres sammen med alders- og
kjønnsfordeling.
General practitioners in Tromsø, Norway, recorded for six months the occurrence of symptoms corresponding to the “seven warning signals” of cancer. Such signals were recorded in 5.4% of the consultations. Occurrence rates according to sex and age are presented.
If approximately every 20th patient in the doctor’s opinion presents with such a signal, some extra attention towards these patients should be possible. Whether these patients really have an increased incidence of cancer compared with other patients demands further investigation.
