dc.description.abstractI februar 1861 døde mannen som i år 2000 ble stemt frem som årtusenets norrbottning i Sverige, Lars Levi Læstadius (1800–1861). En notis i Aftenposten viser at han ved sin død var kjent nok til å bli omtalt i norske aviser, men samtidig at han fortsatt befant seg i skyggen av sin yngre bror Petrus Læstadius (1802–1841) som hadde vært død i 20 år.en_US
