Synthesis of 5,7-diarylindoles via Suzuki-Miyaura coupling in water
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2021-11-16)The synthesis of novel 5,7-diaryl and diheteroaryl indoles has been explored via efficient double Suzuki–Miyaura coupling. The method notably employs a low catalyst loading of Pd(PPh3)4 (1.5 mol%/coupling) and water as the reaction solvent to obtain 5,7-diarylated indoles without using N-protecting groups in up to 91% yield. The approach is also suitable for N-protected and ... -

(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2021-11-01)Invasive pink salmon (Oncorhynchus gorbuscha) has been present in variable, but low, numbers in Norwegian waters since c. 1960, but beginning in 2017 their numbers have exploded in rivers in northern Norway, with considerable numbers also recorded in rivers in southern Norway and other countries bordering the North Atlantic. Analysis of pink salmon scales from two rivers draining to the western ... -
Welcome to the Family: Identification of the NAD+ Transporter of Animal Mitochondria as Member of the Solute Carrier Family SLC25
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2021-06-14)Subcellular compartmentation is a fundamental property of eukaryotic cells. Communication and metabolic and regulatory interconnectivity between organelles require that solutes can be transported across their surrounding membranes. Indeed, in mammals, there are hundreds of genes encoding solute carriers (SLCs) which mediate the selective transport of molecules such as nucleotides, amino acids, ... -
Fine-scale spatial segregation in a pelagic seabird driven by differential use of tidewater glacier fronts
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2021-11-11)In colonially breeding marine predators, individual movements and colonial segregation are influenced by seascape characteristics. Tidewater glacier fronts are important features of the Arctic seascape and are often described as foraging hotspots. Albeit their documented importance for wildlife, little is known about their structuring effect on Arctic predator movements and space use. In this study, ... -
Context-dependent fitness costs of reproduction despite stable body mass costs in an Arctic herbivore
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2021-09-20)1.The cost of reproduction on demographic rates is often assumed to operate through changing body condition. Several studies have found that reproduction depresses body mass more if the current conditions are severe, such as high population densities or adverse weather, than under benign environmental conditions. However, few studies have investigated the association between the fitness components ... -
Gir økt arbeidsledighet økt selvmordsrisiko for unge menn i større grad enn ... -

Monitoring a changing Arctic: Recent advancements in the study of sea ice microbial communities
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2021-11-25)Sea ice continues to decline across many regions of the Arctic, with remaining ice becoming increasingly younger and more dynamic. These changes alter the habitats of microbial life that live within the sea ice, which support healthy functioning of the marine ecosystem and provision of resources for human-consumption, in addition to influencing biogeochemical cycles (e.g. air–sea CO2 exchange). With ... -

The Anglophone crisis in Cameroon
(Master thesis; Mastergradsoppgave, 2021-10-28)The historiography of the “Anglophone Problem” has drawn a lot of ink from Cameroonian historians, lawyers, politicians, and scholars. This is because an Anglophone in the Cameroonian context is not necessarily a Cameroonian who speaks or writes English, or who is imbibed with the Anglo-Saxon culture. Cameroonians are confronted with who an Anglophone is, what is the Anglophone problem, the origin ... -
Forskning ...
