The phylogeography and ecology of Oligobrachia frenulate species suggest a generalist chemosynthesis-based fauna in the arctic
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2023-03-02)We used ancient DNA (aDNA) extraction methods to sequence museum voucher samples of Oligobrachia webbi, a frenulate siboglinid polychaete described from a northern Norwegian fjord over fifty years ago. Our sequencing results indicate a genetic match with the cryptic seep species, Oligobrachia haakonmosbiensis (99% pairwise identity for 574 bp mtCOI fragments). Due to its similarity with O. webbi, ... -
Stage-Dependent Predation on Prey Species Who Possess Different Life Histories
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2023-03-24)Two stage-structuredone-population (prey) models together with four prey-predator models are analyzed. Regarding the prey models, where one of them has fecundity elements which depend on the total population while the fecundities of the other depend on the mature part of the population only, we prove that both of them are permanent and moreover that their fixed points undergo supercritical bifurcations, ... -
TBK1 phosphorylation activates LIR-dependent degradation of the inflammation repressor TNIP1
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel, 2022-12-27)Limitation of excessive inflammation due to selective degradation of pro-inflammatory proteins is one of the cytoprotective functions attributed to autophagy. In the current study, we highlight that selective autophagy also plays a vital role in promoting the establishment of a robust inflammatory response. Under inflammatory conditions, here TLR3-activation by poly(I:C) treatment, the inflammation ... -
Mapping Key Past and Current Debate on Areas beyond National Jurisdiction

Objective Momentum Barriers in Wall Turbulence
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2022-04-28)We use the recent frame-indifferent theory of diffusive momentum transport to identify internal barriers in wall-bounded turbulence. Formed by the invariant manifolds of the Laplacian of the velocity field, the barriers block the viscous part of the instantaneous momentum flux in the flow. We employ the level sets of single-trajectory Lagrangian diagnostic tools, the trajectory rotation average ... -
What Do I Want to Be? Predictors of Communal Occupational Aspirations in Early to Middle Childhood
(Mastergradsoppgave; Master thesis, 2022-03-30)Research investigating occupational aspirations in childhood is scarce. In addition, most research on occupational aspirations has focused on increasing the number of women in agentic, high- paying jobs. Therefore, we investigate factors associated with communal occupational aspirations in two studies with young children (Study 1: 159 children, Mage = 5.51 years; Study 2: 96 children; Mage = 9.44 ... -
Automatic thumbnail selection for soccer videos using machine learning
(Chapter; Bokkapittel, 2022-08-05)Thumbnail selection is a very important aspect of online sport video presentation, as thumbnails capture the essence of important events, engage viewers, and make video clips attractive to watch. Traditional solutions in the soccer domain for presenting highlight clips of important events such as goals, substitutions, and cards rely on the manual or static selection of thumbnails. However, such ... -
Data Processing Scheme for Laser Spot Thermography Applied for Nondestructive Testing of Composite Laminates
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2023-02-08)This paper proposes a data processing scheme for laser spot thermography (LST) applied for nondestructive testing (NDT) of composite laminates. The LST involves recording multiple thermographic sequences, resulting in large amounts of data that have to be processed cumulatively to evaluate the diagnostic information. This paper demonstrates a new data processing scheme based on parameterization and ... -
Cartan-Geometric Approaches to Submaximally Symmetric Ordinary Differential Equations
(Doctoral thesis; Doktorgradsavhandling, 2023-04-12)This thesis is concerned with a symmetry classification problem for ordinary differential equations (ODEs) that dates back to Sophus Lie. We focus on higher order ODEs, i.e. scalar ODEs of order greater than or equal to 4 or vector ODEs of order greater than or equal to 3, up to contact transformations. The maximal contact symmetry algebra dimensions for these ODEs are known. We determine for ... -
Associations of adolescent alcohol use and self-reported alcohol tolerance with risk of self-harm and suicide in early adulthood: a birth-cohort study
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2022-11-17)Objective We aimed to assess the predictive associations of age at first drink (AFD), age at first intoxication (AFI), frequency of intoxication, and self-reported alcohol tolerance at age 15-16 to self-harm requiring medical attention or suicide death by age 33.

Method In an ongoing follow-up study, the Northern Finland Birth Cohort 1986, a total of 7,735 individuals were included at age ... -
Indigenousness as a Protected Ground of Discrimination
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel, 2022-03)
The major international human rights instruments do not explicitly identify being indigenous as a protected ground of discrimination. Notwithstanding, protected grounds common to these instruments, such as ‘ethnicity’, undoubtedly encapsulate indigenousness. More interesting than whether it is a protected ground of discrimination is therefore the nature indigenousness attains as a such. This is ... -
Home administration of needle injections for children with rheumatic diseases: A qualitative study on nurses’ perception of their educational role
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel, 2022-04-28)
Purpose - To explore nurses' perceptions of their educational role, pedagogical competence, and practice in teaching children with rheumatic diseases and their parents to manage subcutaneous injections at home.
Design and methods - In this qualitative study, we used thematic analysis to analyze data from three focus groups with 14 nurses responsible for patient education at one ... -
Digitale ... -
No association between physical activity and primary melanoma thickness in a cohort of Norwegian women
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2022-12-21)Knowledge about factors associated with melanoma thickness, the most important prognostic factor for localized primary melanoma survival,1 may help reduce the risk of melanoma deaths. Previously reported associations of melanoma thickness with pigmentary characteristics, number of naevi, diet quality and body mass index (BMI)2–4 may be explained by behavioural and biological mechanisms. Physical ... -
Individual Patient Data Meta-analysis of Drug-eluting Versus Bare-metal Stents for Percutaneous Coronary Intervention in Chronic Versus Acute Coronary Syndromes
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2022-09-06)New-generation drug-eluting stents (DES) strongly reduce restenosis and repeat revascu- larization compared with bare-metal stents (BMS) for percutaneous coronary interven- tion. There is residual uncertainty as to whether other prognostically relevant outcomes are affected by DES versus BMS concerning initial presentation (chronic coronary syn- drome [CCS] vs acute coronary syndrome [ACS]). We ... -
Waters that matter: How human-environment relations are changing in high-Arctic Svalbard
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2022-12-20)There is scientific consensus that the archipelago of Svalbard is warming up faster than other parts of the planet. People who live in or regularly visit this part of the European high Arctic observe and experience these changes in a subjective and relational manner. This article illustrates how perceptions of environmental change are enmeshed with our ways of interacting with water(s) and dwelling ... -
Weighing up the risks — Vaccine decision-making in pregnancy and parenting
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2022-02-18)Background: Immunisation is universally accepted as one of the most significant health initiatives in recent times. However, vaccine hesitancy is increasing in Australia and other high- and middle-income countries. There is evidence to suggest that many parents, even those who elect to immunise, may have a degree of vaccine hesi- tancy. The recommendation of a healthcare professional is a predictor ... -

The purpose of this literature review was to investigate QOL by means of GIQLI in patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) prior to any interventional therapy. There are several reports on GIQLI data; however, ... -
