Sikveland, Marius; Xie, Jinghua; Zhang, Dengjun (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2022-02-04)
Volatile seasonal demand and geographic clustering of firms are two important factors affecting the capital structure of hospitality firms. In this paper, we investigate the capital structure determinants of hospitality firms regarding the effects of seasonality and geographic clustering. A fixed-effects panel data model was estimated using data on all hospitality firms in Norway from 2008 to 2018. ...
    • Politiavhør av mistenkte barn under 15 år

Holm, Inger Marie; Jacobsen, Ioanna Dallari (Mastergradsoppgave; Master thesis, 2022-12-15)

Progress in genome sequencing now enables the large-scale generation of reference genomes. Various international initiatives aim to generate reference genomes representing global biodiversity. These genomes provide unique insights into genomic diversity and architecture, thereby enabling comprehensive analyses of population and functional genomics, and are expected to revolutionize ...
    • Physical–biological interactions underlying the connectivity patterns of coral-dependent fishes around the Arabian Peninsula

Torquato, Felipe; Møller, Peter Daniel Rask (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2022-03-09)
Aim: Distribution patterns of lineages alone do not explain the processes underlying phylogenetic differentiation in fishes observed around the Arabian Peninsula, whose hypotheses traditionally rely on (i) Pleistocene vicariance events, (ii) successive bottlenecks, (iii) recent founder effects (iv) and large spatial gradients in physical conditions. In this study, we test the hypothesis that ...
    • A culture of cheating: The role of worldviews in preferences for honesty

Birkelund, Johan; Cherry, Todd; McEvoy, David M. (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2021-12-11)
We explore the role of cultural worldviews in preferences for honesty using a coin-flipping task in an online experiment. Two treatments are conducted, one in which cheating has only private benefits and one in which cheating benefits the public. While we find no differences in behavior by worldviews across treatments, we find that observed differences in dishonesty between genders is significantly ...
    • When to stop searching in a highly uncertain world? A theoretical and experimental investigation of “two-way” sequential search tasks

Bouhlel, Imen; Chessa, Michela; Festre, Agnes Monique Marie; Guerci, Eric (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2022-09-13)
When to stop exploring is crucial in contexts where learning to manage time and uncertainty is critical for carrying out successful initiatives (e.g., innovation, personnel recruitment, vaccine discovery). We investigate analytically and experimentally the exploration-exploitation trade-offs in such contexts. A “two-way” sequential search task is proposed, where the classical exploration-exploitation ...

de Carle, Danielle Božena; Gajda, Lukasz; Bielecki, Aleksander; Cios, Stanisław; Cichocka, Joanna M; Golden, Heidi E; Gryska, Andrew D; Sokolov, Sergey; Shedko, Marina Borisowna; Knudsen, Rune; Utevsky, Serge; Świątek, Piotr; Tessler, Michael (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2022-07-16)
Acanthobdellida gnaw into the sides of salmonid fishes in frigid Arctic lakes and rivers, latching on with fearsome facial hooks. Sister to leeches, they are an ancient lineage with two described species. Unfortunately, Acanthobdellida are rarely collected, leading to a paucity of literature despite their unique morphology. Populations range from Eurasia to Alaska (USA), but few specimens of ...
    • Fremmede stater og regjeringer i norsk rett

Helmersen, Sondre Torp (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2022-06-27)

Sivertsen, Martine Ryvoll (Mastergradsoppgave; Master thesis, 2022-12-14)
