      Endonuclease III (EndoIII) is a bifunctional DNA glycosylase that removes oxidized pyrimidines from DNA. The genome of Deinococcus radiodurans encodes for an unusually high number of DNA glycosylases, including three EndoIII enzymes (drEndoIII1-3).
