The purpose of this thesis is to investigate if there exist an optimal equilibrium between the climate shell price and reduction of energy consumption.
Norconsult produced in 2019 SIMIEN energy simulation reports in connection with the renovation of Nordseter school.
The school was built in 1968 and there is no documentation from this period. Therefore, we had to make assumptions in connection with the itch shell's properties before the renovation.
In this thesis have we used the energy monitoring system KIONA to extract real historical energy consumption data for the various school buildings.
The collected data has been analyzed and compared with the theoretical energy certificates SIMIEN of their respective buildings.
Comparisons that we have made of the climate shell's data before and after renovation to passive house level show that the measure results in a reduction of 107,229 kWh, which indicates an improvement of almost 61.94 %.
Based on the results, we find no equilibrium between the reduction in energy consumption for space heating and the costs of renovating the climate shell.
Based on the ROI analysis, we see that there is no financial equilibrium between the renovation cost and the financial savings as a result of the energy reduction.
