A Carbon-Constrained Stochastic Optimization Model with Augmented Multi-Criteria Scenario-Based Risk-Averse Solution for Reverse Logistics Network Design under Uncertainty
(Journal article; Peer reviewed; Tidsskriftartikkel, 2017-07-10)With the increase of the concern from the public for environmental pollution and waste of resources, the value recovery through reuse, repair, remanufacturing and recycling from the end-of-use (EOU) and end-of-life (EOL) products have become increasingly important. Reverse logistics is the process for capturing the remaining value from the EOU and EOL products and also for the proper disposal of the ... -
Sound waves in fluidized bed using CFD–DEM simulations
(Journal article; Peer reviewed; Tidsskriftartikkel, 2017-10-16)The speed of sound waves is investigated using CFD-DEM numerical simulations. Appropriate initial and boundary conditions are applied to capture the phenomenon. The effect of varying the height of the bed is also studied. The results of the simulations matched those from literature. The pressure and particle velocity profiles from the simulation showed the oscillatory behavior. Functions (based on ... -
Transient Model of an RSW System with CO2 Refrigeration – A Study of Overall Performance
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2017-11-07)Refrigerated seawater (RSW) cooling using CO2 based refrigeration is a relatively new technology that shows promising performance in cold climates. For being a refrigerant CO2 has a low global warming potential (GWP) and is therefore recognized as an environmentally friendly alternative if the unit is competitive on energy efficiency. However, RSW systems with CO2 have a significant reduction in ... -
A new look at classical inequalities involving Banach lattice norms
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2017-12-08)Some classical inequalities are known also in a more general form of Banach lattice norms and/or in continuous forms (i.e., for ‘continuous’ many functions are involved instead of finite many as in the classical situation). The main aim of this paper is to initiate a more consequent study of classical inequalities in this more general frame. We already here contribute by discussing some results of ... -
Quadrotor attitude estimation using adaptive fading multiplicative EKF
(Konferansebidrag; Conference object, 2017-07-03)This paper presents the implementation of an adaptive fading multiplicative extended Kalman filter (AFMEKF), applied to the problem of attitude estimation in the context of quadrotors. The extended Kalman filter is adapted for use with quaternions and made adaptive to account for inaccurate measurement information. Simulations have been conducted in order to validate the filter performance. -
Matrix factorization of multivariate Bernstein polynomials
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2015)Ordinary univariate Bernstein polynomials can be represented in matrix form using factor matrices. In this paper we present the definition and basic properties of such factor matrices extended from the univariate case to the general case of arbitrary number of variables by using barycentric coordinates in the hyper-simplices of respective dimension. The main results in the paper are related to the ... -
