It has been proven that wild berries grown above the Arctic-Circle contains higher levels of antioxidants compared to other places in the world. The business idea is to utilize wild, naturally grown Arctic berries processed into freeze-dried, minced berry-powder and sell it as a high-quality nutritional supplement. The main objective of this thesis is to develop and enhance the understanding of the commercialization process for a start-up company with a research-based idea. Our findings show that it is both possible, and important to pursue sustainable business ideas. This can be done in collaboration between academia and industry in order to gather and utilize resources. Arctic BioPlant`s business idea is an incremental – sustaining innovation, which implies that the products added value to the market has to be clearly expressed towards the consumer.en_US
