Spray duration and frequency are critical for estimating ice accretion on marine structures. The present expressions for these parameters are limited by insufficient field data, primarily due to inadequate measurement techniques. To address this issue, the SPRICE sea-spray measurement device was developed, incorporating capacitive sensos to accurately measure spray parameters such as the duration and frequency. The device was deployed at a fish farm in Northern Norway, where it operated autonomously, collecting data at a rate of 5Hz. Using this data, an empirical formula is derived for total duration of spray impact per minute, tailored specifically for fish farm structures. The data collection capability of this device shows significant potential to enhance marine icing forecasting and improve safety in cold regions.en_US
