In this thesis we have applied Fisher’s discrimination method to cod samples to discriminate between cod originating from the coastal cod stock and cod originating from the arctic cod stock. The discrimination is based on Fourier coefficients extracted from cod otolith contours. We have optimized and compared two different Fourier methods of extracting these coefficients. These methods are evaluated and compared in terms of discrimination results and robustness.en
