Amphipod crustaceans were collected at all 55 stations sampled with an epibenthic sledge during two IceAGE expeditions (Icelandic marine Animals: Genetics and Ecology) in 2011 and 2013. In total, 34 amphipod families and three superfamilies were recorded in the samples. Distribution maps are presented for each taxon along with a summary of the regional taxonomy for the group. Statistical analyses ...
• A genetic fingerprint of Amphipoda from Icelandic waters – the baseline for further biodiversity and biogeography studies

Jażdżewska, Anna M.; Corbari, Laure; Driskell, Amy; Frutos, Inmaculada; Havermans, Charlotte; Hendrycks, Ed; Hughes, Lauren E.; Lörz, Anne-Nina; Stransky, Bente; Tandberg, Anne Helene S.; Vader, Wim; Brix, Saskia (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2018-01-23)
Amphipods constitute an abundant part of Icelandic deep-sea zoobenthos yet knowledge of the diversity of this fauna, particularly at the molecular level, is scarce. The present work aims to use molecular methods to investigate genetic variation of the Amphipoda sampled during two IceAGE collecting expeditions. The mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase subunit 1 (COI) of 167 individuals originally assigned ...
• On a new species of Amphilochus from deep and cold Atlanic waters, with a note on the genus Amphilochopsis (Amphipoda, Gammaridea, Amphilochidae)

Tandberg, Anne Helene S.; Vader, Wim (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2018-01-23)
Amphilochus manudens and Amphilochopsis hamatus are redescribed based on specimens from the BioIce, Mareano, and IceAGE programmes. Te new species Amphilochus anoculus sp. n. is described based on material from the IceAGE programme and the preceding BioIce programme; it is separated from the closely related Amphilochus manudens by the absence of eyes, a ...
• Onisimus turgidus (Sars, 1879) (Amphipoda, Uristidae), an overlooked amphipod from sea anemones in Northern Norway

Vader, Wim; Johnsen, Jan Roger; Tandberg, Anne Helene S. (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2020-11-18)
Two Norwegian uristid amphipods, obligate associates of sea anemones, have for a long time been confused sub nomine Onisimus normani Sars, 1890. In reality this species only occurs in south Norway, while the north-Norwegian material belongs to O. turgidus (Sars, 1879), described from the Barents Sea and for a long time forgotten. This paper fully illustrates both species, gives a key, ...
