The aim was by prospective observational design to investigate the prevalence and characteristics of psychoactive ... -
Response to Letter to the Editor from Dalan: "Vitamin D Supplementation for Prevention of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: To D or Not to D?"
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2020-12-30)We thank Rinkoo Dalan for the comments on our paper (1, 2). We agree that although the reduction in diabetes risk with vitamin D supplementation among people at high risk for diabetes appears to be moderate (~ 12% relative risk reduction compared to placebo) (3), certain individuals may derive a higher (or lower) benefit based on certain characteristics. For example, in the simplest demonstration ... -
The efficacy of botulinum toxin A treatment for tension-Type or cervicogenic headache: A systematic review and meta-Analysis of randomized, placebo-controlled trials
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2021-06-07)Objectives - The pathogeneses of chronic tension-type headache (CTTH) and cervicogenic headache (CEH) are not well established. Peripheral activation or sensitization of myofascial nociceptors is suggested as a potential mechanism and injections of botulinum toxin (BONTA) have thus been used in the treatment for both headache conditions. BONTA inhibits the release of acetylcholine at the neuromuscular ... -
Protein Appetite Drives Macronutrient-Related Differences in Ventral Tegmental Area Neural Activity
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2021-06-09)Control of protein intake is essential for numerous biological processes as several amino acids cannot be synthesized de novo, however, its neurobiological substrates are still poorly understood. In the present study, we combined in vivo fiber photometry with nutrient-conditioned flavor in a rat model of protein appetite to record neuronal activity in the VTA, a central brain region for the control ... -
Consumers’ Willingness to Pay (WTP) for Organically Farmed Fish in Bangladesh
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2021-09-15)This study aims to assess the market potential for organically farmed shrimp. The rank-ordered logit model was employed to investigate consumer perceptions; the findings reveal that consumers prefer organic shrimp from mariculture, and inland-farmed shrimp to the coastal version. The willingness to pay (WTP) for conventional shrimp amongst consumers with low knowledge is less than that for organic ... -

Unfounded claims about productivity beyond density for reindeer pastoralism systems
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2021-10-22)We point out problems with the article Productivity beyond density: A critique of management models for reindeer pastoralism in Norway by Marin and co-workers published in Pastoralism in 2020. In our opinion, there are several misleading claims about the governance of the reindeer pastoralist system in Norway, the Røros model for herd management and density dependence in reindeer herds in their ... -
The Practice Guidelines for Multidose Drug Dispensing Need Revision—An Investigation of Prescription Problems and Interventions
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2021-01-06)Multidose drug dispensing (MDD) is an adherence aid used by one-third of patients receiving home care services in Norway. The system can increase patient safety by reducing dispensing errors and increase adherence, however it has also been criticised for unclear routines and distribution of responsibilities. We investigated prescription problems which pharmacists have detected, and the responsibilities ... -
The CPV “toolbox”: New approaches to maximizing solar resource utilization with application-oriented concentrator photovoltaics
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2021-02-03)As the scaling of silicon PV cells and module manufacturing has driven solar energy penetration up and costs down, concentrator photovoltaic technologies, originally conceived as a cost-saving measure, have largely been left behind. The loss of market share by CPV is being locked in even as solar energy development encounters significant obstacles related to space constraints in many parts of ... -
Cognitive flexibility in children with Developmental Language Disorder: Drawing of nonexistent objects
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2021-06-17)Cognitive flexibility is the ability to adapt thoughts and behaviors to new environments. Previous studies investigating cognitive flexibility in children with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) present contradictory findings. In the current study, cognitive flexibility was assessed in 5- and 6-year-old preschoolers with DLD (n = 23) and peers with typical development (TD; n = 50) using a ... -
