(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2022-09-21)Background International variations in cancer outcomes persist and may be influenced by differences in the accessibility and organisation of cancer patient pathways. More evidence is needed to understand to what extent variations in the structure of primary care referral pathways for cancer investigation contribute to differences in the timeliness of diagnoses and cancer outcomes in different ... -
‘Russophone Israeli Cinema: “Accented”, Post-Soviet, Transnational, Postnational?’
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2022)This issue focuses on Russophone cinema in Israel, i.e., films made by and about ex-Soviet Israelis in Israel and elsewhere. Our work on this publication began well before Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022. Even if the current war has little bearing on the articles and reviews that are collected here, it is not at all surprising that this particularly horrifying context leads, ... -

‘Where to ski?’: an ethnography of how guides make sense while planning
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2022-12-10)A ski guide’s job is to take recreational skiers into avalanche terrain. In this paper, we explore how ski guides make sense of complex social and ecological contexts while planning. Our data arises out of a one-year participant ethnography of ski guiding in Norway, and shows that guides work towards becoming socio-ecologically embedded by making sense of who the clients and what the mountain ... -

Storihle shares their work ... -
Calibrating entrepreneurship education for a constantly changing world
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2022-09-07)A key purpose of education has long been to ensure that students are well prepared for the workforce. In an unchanging context where tasks, roles, and expectations are stable, creating an education program that prepares students for the workforce can be achieved relatively easily, and once in place will remain appropriate if the context is stable. The challenge ... -

Brucella melitensis biovar 1 isolation in a captive wildlife population in the United Arab Emirates. First isolation in the scimitar-horned Oryx (Oryx dammah)
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2022-02-07)In 2013, Brucella melitensis biovar 1 was recovered from the stomach contents of a scimitar-horned Oryx - SHO (Oryx dammah) aborted foetus, and from the articular fluid of a sand gazelle (Gazella marica) in a captive wildlife collection near Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Other evidence of exposure to the pathogen was collected through serological testing (Rose Bengal test) and B. melitensis-specific ... -
Modernisering, etnisitet og emigrasjon. Utvandringa frå Hammerfest prestegjeld til Nord-Amerika 1865 - 1925

Sexual Harassment or Just Coaching? Sport Students Making Sense of Possibly Sexualising Coach Behaviours
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2022-11-24)Research has shown that athletes are divided in their assessment of possibly sexualising behaviours from coaches towards athletes. How they arrive at their conclusions has received less attention—yet it is crucial to understand as a basis for safeguarding measures. Using video-elicitation focus group interviews with sport students, we zoomed in on different types of ‘grey area’ situations involving ... -
Biliary Adenofibroma: A Rare Liver Tumor with Transition to Invasive Carcinoma
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2022-02-07)Biliary adenofibroma is a rare benign liver tumor with potential for malignant transition. It has a bile duct origin characterized by a complex tubulocystic biliary epithelium with fibrous stroma. MRI features may suggest this uncommon entity, and histological findings can be diagnostic. We report a case of biliary adenofibroma with transformation to an intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. -
Recombinant T-cell receptors from HPA-1a specific T-cells
(Mastergradsoppgave; Master thesis, 2022-02-01)Fetal- and neonatal alloimmune thrombocytopenia is a condition that can cause hemorrhage and potential brain damage or death in neonates. It is most often a result of maternal alloantibodies specific for fetal Human Platelet antigen 1a (HPA-1a) that destroy fetal platelets. The recognition of the HPA-1a peptide-MHC complex by T-cells involve a peculiar form of T-cell receptor peptide-MHC ... -
Reflections on the nature of measurement in language-based automated assessments of patients' mental state and cognitive function
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2022-09-22)Modern advances in computational language processing methods have enabled new approaches to the measurement of mental processes. However, the field has primarily focused on model accuracy in predicting performance on a task or a diagnostic category. Instead the field should be more focused on determining which computational analyses align best with the targeted neurocognitive/psychological functions ... -

The Svalbard Carboniferous to Cenozoic Composite Tectono-Stratigraphic Element
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2022-08-26)The Svalbard Composite Tectono-Stratigraphic Element is located on the north-western corner of the Barents Shelf and comprises a Carboniferous to Pleistocene sedimentary succession. Due to Cenozoic uplift the succession is subaerially exposed in the Svalbard archipelago. The oldest parts of the succession consist of Carboniferous to Permian mixed siliciclastic, carbonate and evaporite and spiculitic ... -
Playing at learning design
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel, 2022)In the present paper, we describe our ongoing work on developing a new game-inspired approach for assisting and training staff in designing for learning. Building on our experiences from the process of working with learning design through structured workshops, we are looking for alternative formats that can facilitate a more holistic and efficient approach to the process. Turning to the field of ... -
