Research on interprofessional education (IPE) for undergraduates has illuminated learning outcomes, organization of learning activities, change in ... -
Health-related quality of life from 20 to 32 years of age in very low birth weight individuals: a longitudinal study
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2022-09-14)Background: Preterm birth with very low birth weight (VLBW, birth weight<1500 g) is associated with health problems later in life. How VLBW individuals perceive their physical and mental health-related quality of life (HRQoL) is important to understand their putative burden of disease. Previous studies have shown mixed results, and longitudinal studies into adulthood have been requested. This study ... -
Vilenkin–Lebesgue Points and Almost Everywhere Convergence for Some Classical Summability Methods
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2022-09-17)The concept of Vilenkin–Lebesgue points was introduced in [12], where the almost everywhere convergence of Fejer means of Vilenkin–Fourier series was proved. In this paper, we present a different (and simpler) approach to prove a similar result, which can be used to prove that the corresponding result holds also in a more general context, namely for regular Norlund and T-means. -

The aim of this study is to examine longitudinally the impact of diagnosis of fetal anomaly on symptoms of depression and traumatic stress among mothers and fathers, and to examine how variations in psychological adjustment relate to diagnostic severity and prognostic ... -
Pharmacokinetics of a long-acting subcutaneous eprinomectin injection in semi-domesticated reindeer (Rangifer tarandus tarandus) - a pilot study
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2022-12-17)Reindeer (Rangifer tarandus tarandus) are exposed to the pathogenic parasitic nematode Elaphostrongylus rangiferi during grazing. The severity of disease is dose-dependent. Prophylactic anthelmintic treatment is needed to improve animal health and reindeer herding sustainability. Herds are traditionally only gathered once during the summer, requiring a drug with a persistent effect. In this study ... -
Standing on the shoulders of Scandinavian giants? Intellectual heritage in the "Demonstratio idioma Ungarorum et Lapponum idem esse" by János Sajnovics
Large deviations for Markov jump processes in periodic and locally periodic environments
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2022-12)The paper deals with a family of jump Markov process defined in a medium with a periodic or locally periodic microstructure. We assume that the generator of the process is a zero order convolution type operator with rapidly oscillating locally periodic coefficient and, under natural ellipticity and localization conditions, show that the family satisfies the large deviation principle in the path space ... -
Disaster, traces of displacement, and mizuaoi seeds
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2022-10-13)Curated by socio-cultural anthropologist Fuyubi Nakamura, the exhibition entitled A Future for Memory: Art and Life after the Great Japan Earthquake at the Museum of Anthropology at UBC in British Columbia addresses the sociocultural role of art produced in situ in the aftermath of the triple disaster which occurred in the Tōhoku region of northeast Japan in 2011. The exhibition’s curatorial project ... -
Meridional-energy-transport extremes and the general circulation of Northern Hemisphere mid-latitudes: dominant weather regimes and preferred zonal wavenumbers
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2022-09-07)The extratropical meridional energy transport in the atmosphere is fundamentally intermittent in nature, having extremes large enough to affect the net seasonal transport. Here, we investigate how these extreme transports are associated with the dynamics of the atmosphere at multiple spatial scales, from planetary to synoptic. We use the ERA5 reanalysis data to perform a wavenumber decomposition ... -
Competence in Digital Interaction and Communication—A Study of First-Year Preservice Teachers’ Competence in Digital Interaction and Communication at the Start of Their Teacher Education
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2022-10-17)This article explores the variation in first-year preservice teachers’ professional competence in digital sharing and communication tools (software) by applying social constructivist learning theory and relevant concepts. The data were obtained from questionnaires distributed to 395 preservice teachers at two Norwegian universities in the first semester of 2019. Correlation and multiple regression ... -
Perspectives on Rent Generation and Rent Appropriation in Fisheries
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2023-01-06)The article debates the origin of rent in natural-resource based industries (NRBIs) such as fisheries, and how the rent generated can be appropriated. The Norwegian fish harvesting industry is used to illustrate the arguments. It is argued that the industry-specific institutional framework of the fish harvesting industry positively affects the competitive forces of the industry, and thereby its ... -
Women's lived experiences of induction of labour in late- and post-term pregnancy within the Swedish post-term induction study - a phenomenological study
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2022-04-10)Purpose: There is a trend worldwide to induce pregnant women earlier. However, few studies have focused on women’s experiences. The aim was to gain a deeper understanding of women’s lived experiences of induction of labour in late- and post-term pregnancy.

Methods: Phenomenology with a reflective lifeworld approach was chosen as the method. Twelve women participating in a larger study in ... -
Towards a temporospatial framework for measurements of disorganization in speech using semantic vectors
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2022-11-10)Incoherent speech in schizophrenia has long been described as the mind making “leaps” of large distances between thoughts and ideas. Such a view seems intuitive, and for almost two decades, attempts to operationalize these conceptual “leaps” in spoken word meanings have used language-based embedding spaces. An embedding space represents meaning of words as numerical vectors where a greater proximity ... -

AHL-mediated quorum sensing regulation: Role in controlling cytotoxicity, T6SSs and CRISPR-Cas systems in Aliivibrio wodanis
(Doctoral thesis; Doktorgradsavhandling, 2023-01-27)
Aliivibrio wodanis has been associated with winter ulcer disease outbreaks. It has been reported that A. wodanis may act as a secondary pathogen in disease outbreaks and pathogenesis. The culture supernatant of A. wodanis causes a cytopathogenic effect (CPE) in various salmon cell lines. Moreover, in an Atlantic salmon bath challenge experiment, A. wodanis alone produces ... -
High resolution ancient sedimentary DNA shows that alpine plant diversity is associated with human land use and climate change
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2022-11-04)The European Alps are highly rich in species, but their future may be threatened by ongoing changes in human land use and climate. Here, we reconstructed vegetation, temperature, human impact and livestock over the past ~12,000 years from Lake Sulsseewli, based on sedimentary ancient plant and mammal DNA, pollen, spores, chironomids, and microcharcoal. We assembled a highly-complete local DNA ...
