    • Har myndighetene plikt til å hjelpe norske barn i Syria til Norge?

Martnes, Mona (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel, 2020-03-03)
    • Augustins underfulle alminnelighet

Dahl, Espen (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel, 2020)

Janda, Laura A; Antonsen, Lene (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2020)
Inalienability in North Saami On the basis of corpus data (9.5M words 1997–2010) we claim that North Saami is developing a grammatical distinction between alienable and inalienable possession. In previous work we documented a language change in North Saami in which the possessive suffix as in girjji-id-easkka [book-acc.pl-3pl] ‘their books’ is being replaced by an analytic construction with the ...

Heimtun, Bente; Lovelock, Brent; Morgan, Nigel (Conference object; Konferansebidrag, 2015)
While many characteristics of tourism products are well known, relatively little work has explored elements of uncertainty and risk. Little is known about how tourism operators communicate aspects of uncertainty. This qualitative study uses content analysis to explore the language used in promotional material of tour operators and destination management organisations to communicate the unpredictable ...
    • Mellom borealisme og orientalisme. Fortellinger og forestillinger om 'de andre' i nordlysturismen

Mathisen, Stein Roar (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel, 2017)
The article takes as its point of departure a media narrative, relating that Northern Lights tourists from the East are not only visiting the northern areas to experience the celestial phenomenon, as their actual hope is to conceive under the Lights. According to alleged old beliefs in the East, this is supposed to give handsomer, healthier, and more intelligent children. The location of these beliefs ...
    • Land cover changes detection in polarimetric SAR data using algebra, similarity and distance based methods

Najafi, Amir; Hasanlou, Hasan; Akbari, Vahid (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel, 2017-09-27)
Monitoring and surveillance changes around the world need powerful methods, so detection, visualization, and assessment of significant changes are essential for planning and management. Incorporating polarimetric SAR images due to interactions between electromagnetic waves and target and because of the high spatial resolution almost one meter can be used to study changes in the Earth's surface. • Expression and function of Leukotriene B4 receptors in human articular chondrocytes

Hansen, Ann Kristin; Indrevik, Jill-Tove; Figenschau, Yngve Anton; Martinez, Inigo Zubiavrre; Sveinbjørnsson, Baldur (Conference object; Konferansebidrag, 2013)
Leukotriene B4 (LTB4) is linked to osteoarthritis (OA) development however the expression of LTB4 receptors in cartilage cells and the physiological effects of LTB4 on cartilage tissue remain unknown. In this study we find that human articular chondrocytes express LTB4 receptors and that these receptors are functional, however, LTB4 does not seem to affect importantly some primary chondrocyte functions.
    • Turbidites in the Eocene of Spitsbergen: Can they tell us something about the Sørvestsnaget Basin?

Grundvåg, Sten-Andreas; Helland-Hansen, William; Safronova, Polina (Conference object; Konferansebidrag, 2017)
<p>The Eocene of Spitsbergen, Svalbard, has received considerable attention in the literature because of its spectacular seismic-scale clinforms exposed along many fiords and valleys. High quality outcrops enables downdip tracing of facies belts from the proximal shelf through the shelf-edge and down-slope into the basin floor. Previous publications particularly focused on the shelf-edge to slope ...

Holsæter, Ann Mari; Ingebrigtsen, Sveinung Gaarden; Skalko-Basnet, Natasa (Conference object; Konferansebidrag, 2017)
Liposomes solubilize lipophilic drugs in the phospholipid membrane, and entrap hydrophilic drugs in its aqueous core. These vesicles provide a sustained- and targeted- drug release, and protect from degradation. Liposomes retain the drug onto/in the skin and improve skin drug deposition. Due to their liquid nature, a secondary vehicle, such as a hydrogel, is needed to obtain a necessary retention ...

    • Some New Weak (Hp- Lp)-Type Inequality for Weighted Maximal Operators of Partial Sums of Walsh–Fourier Series

Baramidze, David; Persson, Lars-Erik; Singh, Harpal; Tephnadze, George (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2023-08-18)
In this paper, we introduce some new weighted maximal operators of the partial sums of the Walsh–Fourier series. We prove that for some “optimal” weights these new operators indeed are bounded from the martingale Hardy space Hp(G) to the Lebesgue space weak−Lp(G), for 0<p<1. Moreover, we also prove sharpness of this result. As a consequence we obtain some new and well-known ...
