El Aspecto perfectivo y el aspecto imperfectivo en español y ruso. Un estudio contrastivo de los sistemas aspectuales en español y ruso.

Abstract

The objective of this thesis is to investigate in a comparative way the aspectual systems of Spanish and Russian through an examination of the Russian translation of a Spanish text. The book that i am going to use for this research is one of the greatest literary works of 20th century - One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez. Specifically. I will explore the perfective and imperfective values in both languages and I will argue that despite the fact that in most cases their uses coincide, there are some significant differences between the two systems which come from the different way in which the notions of boundedness and unboundedness are defined in the languages. I will focus on these differences and will try to establish any patterns in their use by analyzing all the examples of aspectual mismatches from a selection of the book.
