Abstract
This thesis is to analyse how ocean alkalinization is regulated in international law. From a legal perspective, there are some uncertainties related to ocean alkalinization activities, as there are no regulations specifically applicable to this technology. That does not mean that it is unregulated, as it falls under international law, such as climate law, environmental law and the law of the sea. In order to clarify the rights and obligations of States under international law, it is necessary to address the international legal framework for ocean alkalinization and how different regimes deal with the application of ocean alkalinization.
