Abstract
The Sigma2 Research Data Archive in Norway has been running for more than 7 years and has accumulated more than 500TiB of data distributed over more than 400 datasets. Some datasets have been downloaded more than 600 times since their deposit. During this time, we have seen the needs of our researchers change as their experience with data management has matured. To address these needs, a project (https://www.sigma2.no/project-new-research-data-archive) aims at upgrading the Sigma2 Research Data Archive. As part of the project, we have been carrying out an investigation of repositories and repository platforms, including Dataverse.
In this talk we describe our experience operating the archive, the changing needs of our researchers, and some findings of the project. We believe our findings will be of interest to the Dataverse community.
