This master’s thesis aims to explore the representation of pastoral in the selected poems of William Wordsworth and James Schuyler who belong to two different time periods and literary movements. Through analyzing their ten poems (five each), I will find out how the representation of pastoral and the human-nature relationship were different in those two different periods and how this relationship between human and nature changes over time.
