Background: Plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1), the main inhibitor of fibrinolysis, is frequently elevated in obesity and could potentially mediate the risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE) in obese subjects. However, whether PAI-1 is associated with VTE remains uncertain.

Objective: To investigate the association between plasma PAI-1 levels and risk of future incident VTE and whether ...

The present study examined the interaction of a top-down (expectations) and bottom-up (type of noise) process to better understand the mechanisms that underlie AH.

Methods - Fifty-two healthy individuals (29 ...

A growing consensus sees the bilingual lexicon as an integrated, nonselective system. However, the way bilingual experience shapes the architecture and functioning of the lexicon is not well understood. This study investigates bilingual lexical-semantic representation and processing employing written translation priming. We focus on the role of active exposure to and use of the second language ...

In this study, we seek to report patient ...

    • An Empirical Evaluation of Explanations for Political System Support

Saghaug Broderstad, Troy (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2023-02-09)
The literature that examines cross-national satisfaction with democracy seeks to discover a set of predictors that are associated with evaluations of regime performance. The most common way of examining the determinants of satisfaction with democracy is null hypothesis significance testing. While this approach has merit, this paper argues that the literature, as it stands, can be complemented to ...
