A highly asymmetric gold(III) η3‐allyl complex
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2019-11-11)A highly asymmetric AuIII η3‐allyl complex has been generated by treating Au(η1‐allyl)Br(tpy) (tpy=2‐(<i>p</i>‐tolyl)pyridine) with AgNTf2. The resulting η3‐allyl complex has been characterized by NMR spectroscopy and X‐ray crystallography. DFT calculations and variable temperature 1H NMR suggest that the allyl ligand is highly fluxional. -
Progress, traditions and future directions in research on disasters involving slow-onset hazards
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2019-10-07)<i>Purpose</i> - The importance of onset speed has been stressed by disaster researchers and inter-governmental bodies for some time, but its meaning and knowledge frontier has not been explored in depth. The purpose of this paper is to contextualise disasters involving slow-onset hazards within the broader literature on disasters, assess the current state of knowledge and identify themes in the ... -
Cisplatin treatment of testicular cancer patients introduces long-term changes in the epigenome
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2019-12-03)<i>Background</i> - Cisplatin-based chemotherapy (CBCT) is part of standard treatment of several cancers. In testicular cancer (TC) survivors, an increased risk of developing metabolic syndrome (MetS) is observed. In this epigenome-wide association study, we investigated if CBCT relates to epigenetic changes (DNA methylation) and if epigenetic changes render individuals susceptible for developing ... -

(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2019-10-24)The present study was conducted to assess the possible effects of gotu kola (<i>Centella asiatica</i>) powder (GKP) on skin mucus and serum immune response, as well as growth performance of Nile tilapia, <i>Oreochromis niloticus</i>. Three hundred twenty Nile tilapia fingerlings (average weight of 17.84 ± 0.08 g) were divided into four treatments and fed four levels of gotu kola powder (GKP) as ... -
Drone-Mounted Ultrawideband Radar for Retrieval of Snowpack Properties
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2019-02-13)Extracting snowpack parameters from snow cover on sea ice or land is a time-consuming and potentially high-risk task. Moreover, deriving such parameters by manually digging a snow pit evidently yields low area coverage. We, therefore, propose a practical solution to this problem by mounting an ultrawideband radar system onto an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) to obtain information such as snowpack ... -
Studying the effect of solubilizing agents on drug diffusion through the unstirred water layer (UWL) by localized spectroscopy
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2019-04-04)An experimental/computational approach has been successfully applied in order to study the effect of solubilizing vehicles (cyclodextrins and liposomes) on the passive diffusion of four active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) of different nature (hydrophilic, ionizable and lipophilic) through an unstirred water layer (UWL) model. This approach allowed the measurement of flux changes through the UWL ... -
The Upper Stratospheric Solar Cycle Ozone Response
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2019-02-10)The solar cycle (SC) stratospheric ozone response is thought to influence surface weather and climate. To understand the chain of processes and ensure climate models adequately represent them, it is important to detect and quantify an accurate SC ozone response from observations. Chemistry climate models (CCMs) and observations display a range of upper stratosphere (1–10 hPa) zonally averaged spatial ... -
Warm temperatures during cold season can negatively affect adult survival in an alpine bird
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2019-10-25)Climate seasonality is a predominant constraint on the lifecycles of species in alpine and polar biomes. Assessing the response of these species to climate change thus requires taking into account seasonal constraints on populations. However, interactions between seasonality, weather fluctuations, and population parameters remain poorly explored as they require long‐term studies with high sampling ... -
B cell receptor ligation induces display of V-region peptides on MHC class II molecules to T cells
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2019-12-03)The B cell receptors (BCRs) for antigen express variable (V) regions that are enormously diverse, thus serving as markers on individual B cells. V region-derived idiotypic (Id) peptides can be displayed as pId:MHCII complexes on B cells for recognition by CD4+ T cells. It is not known if naive B cells spontaneously display pId:MHCII in vivo or if BCR ligation is required for expression, ... -
Tord Larsen, Emil A. Røyrvik (Red.): Trangen til å telle.
For leger, sykepleiere, ... -
Oral health in children and adolescents with juvenile idiopathic arthritis - a systematic review and meta-analysis
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2019-12-19)<i>Background</i> - Observational studies examining the association between oral health and juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) among children and adolescents have reported inconsistent findings. The aims of this systematic review and meta-analysis were to ascertain a potential difference in oral health and oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) among children and adolescents with JIA and ... -

Awareness of polycystic ovary syndrome among obstetrician-gynecologists and endocrinologists in Northern Europe.
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2019-12-26)<i>Objective</i> - To date, little is known about differences in the knowledge, diagnosis making and treatment strategies of health care providers regarding polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) across different disciplines in countries with similar health care systems. To inform guideline translation, we aimed to study physician reported awareness, diagnosis and management of PCOS and to explore ... -
Effects of gamma radiation sterilization on the structural and biological properties of decellularized corneal xenografts
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2019-07-05)To address the shortcomings associated with corneal transplants, substantial efforts have been focused on developing new modalities such as xenotransplantion. Xenogeneic corneas are anatomically and biomechanically similar to the human cornea, yet their applications require prior decellularization to remove the antigenic components to avoid rejection. In the context of bringing decellularized corneas ... -
