    • Particular: A Functional Approach to 3D Particle Simulation

Indreberg, Marius (Master thesis; Mastergradsoppgave, 2021-05-31)
Simulating large bodies of entities in various environments is an old science that traces back decades in computer science. There are existing software frameworks with well built mathematical models for approximating various environments. These frameworks are however built on imperative programming fundamentals often following a object oriented paradigm. This thesis presents Particular a 3d ...
    • Sorterius: Game-inspired App for Encouraging Outdoor Physical Activity for People with Intellectual Disabilities

Stellander, Magnus (Master thesis; Mastergradsoppgave, 2021-05-15)
People with intellectual disabilities have difficulties in reaching the World Health Organization's (WHO) suggested level of physical activity. Previous research shows that participating in physical activities often is related to self-efficacy in a physical activity setting and personal motivation. As physical activity has significant effects on physical and mental health, this thesis aimed to develop ...
    • Redefining the oceanic distribution of Atlantic salmon

Rikardsen, Audun H.; Righton, David; Strøm, John Fredrik; Thorstad, Eva Bonsak; Gargan, Patrick G.; Sheehan, Timothy F.; Økland, Finn; Chittenden, Cedar; Hedger, Richard David; Næsje, Tor; Renkawitz, Mark; Sturlaugsson, Johannes; Caballero, Pablo; Baktoft, Henrik; Davidsen, Jan Grimsrud; Halttunen, Elina; Wright, Serena; Finstad, Bengt; Aarestrup, Kim (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2021-06-10)
Determining the mechanisms driving range-wide reductions in Atlantic salmon marine survival is hindered by an insufcient understanding of their oceanic ecology and distribution. We attached 204 pop-up satellite archival tags to post-spawned salmon when they migrated to the ocean from seven European areas and maiden North American salmon captured at sea at West Greenland. Individuals migrated ...
    • Jehovas vitners soteriologi - Hvilke konsekvenser får deres kristusforståelse for frelsesynet?

Her ...

    • Reducing Objective Function Mismatch in Deep Clustering with the Unsupervised Companion Objective

Trosten, Daniel Johansen; Jenssen, Robert; Kampffmeyer, Michael (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2021-04-19)
Preservation of local similarity structure is a key challenge in deep clustering. Many recent deep clustering methods therefore use autoencoders to help guide the model's neural network towards an embedding which is more reflective of the input space geometry. However, recent work has shown that autoencoder-based deep clustering models can suffer from objective function mismatch (OFM). In order to ...
    • Pre-service Science Teachers’ Pedagogical Content Knowledge Integration of Students’ Understanding in Science and Instructional Strategies

We investigated the nature of PSTs’ integration between knowledge of students’ understanding (KSU) and instructional strategies ...
    • Fokus på sikkerhetskultur i organisasjoner: Hvordan kan organisasjoner bedre forstå og arbeide med sikkerhetskultur?

      Flakstad, Thor-Eivind C. (Master thesis; Mastergradsoppgave, 2019-06-14)
    • Testing miniaturized extraction chromatography protocols for combined 87Sr/86Sr and δ88/86Sr analyses of pore water by MC‐ICP‐MS

The accuracy and precision of the Sr isotope ratios have been evaluated by analyzing JCt‐1 and SRM 1640a reference materials, resulting in a reproducibility ...
    • Framing the Dark Web: A study in portrayal of the Dark Web in documentary films

Jacobsen, Fredrik S.M. (Master thesis; Mastergradsoppgave, 2021-05-18)
Through its name, the Dark Web is often associated with activities that are generally illegal and unethical, but why is this? Through the different services that make up the Dark Web, it stands as a technology that inherently exists to protect people's privacy and free speech. This thesis aims to examine how media portrays the Dark Web and how its association is so negatively loaded through the lens ...
    • Challenges and opportunities beyond structured data in analysis of electronic health records

Tayefi, Maryam; Ngo, Phuong; Chomutare, Taridzo; Dalianis, Hercules; Salvi, Elisa; Budrionis, Andrius; Godtliebsen, Fred (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2021-02-14)
Electronic health records (EHR) contain a lot of valuable information about individual patients and the whole population. Besides structured data, unstructured data in EHRs can provide extra, valuable information but the analytics processes are complex, time-consuming, and often require excessive manual effort. Among unstructured data, clinical text and images are the two most popular and important ...

    • Grammatical Gender: Acquisition, Attrition, and Change

Lohndal, Terje; Westergaard, Marit (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2021-02-10)
This paper discusses grammatical gender in Norwegian by bringing together data from first language acquisition, Norwegian heritage language, and dialect change. In all these contexts, gender is often claimed to be a vulnerable category, arguably due to the relative non-transparency of gender assignment. Furthermore, the feminine gender is in the process of being lost in many Norwegian dialects, as ...

Kaspersen, Håkon; Haverkamp, Thomas Hendricus Augustus; Ilag, Hanna Karin; Øines, Øivind; Sekse, Camilla; Slettemeås, Jannice Schau (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2021-01-28)
In total, 12 quinolone-resistant <i>Escherichia coli</i> (QREC) strains containing <i>qnrS1</i> were submitted to long-read sequencing using a FLO-MIN106 flow cell on a MinION device. The long reads were assembled with short reads (Illumina) and analyzed using the MOB-suite pipeline. Six of these QREC genome sequences were closed after hybrid assembly.
