Alt eller ingenting: Annerledesgjøren og agens i to (post)koloniale kunstprosjekter

Abstract

Artikkelen tar utgangspunkt i to kunstprosjekter som på ulike måter tematiserer europeisk utstillingskultur og nordisk kolonialisme i fortid og nåtid; «European Attraction Limited» av Lars Cuzner og Cassius Fadlabi (2011–14) og Joar Nangos «European Everything» (2017). Prosjektene diskuteres i lys av en historisk utstillingspraksis som prosjektene påkaller på en direkte eller indirekte måte, nemlig de såkalte levende etnografiske utstillinger. Hvilke mulighetsrom åpner prosjektene opp for – eller lukker?

<i>English abstract</i>: In this article, the authors discuss two art projects which deal with European exhibition culture and Nordic colonialism in the past and present; «European Attraction Limited» by Lars Cuzner and Cassius Fadlabi (2011–2014) and Joar Nango’s «European Everything» (2017). The projects are viewed in light of the so-called live ethnographic displays. This was an exhibition practice typical all over the Western world in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, which the projects invoke in a direct or indirect way. Which scope of possibility and agency do these projects generate?
