I denne artikkelen gir vi et innblikk i historien til kreftsykepleierstudiet i Tromsø – fra oppstarten på slutten av 1980-tallet ved Regionssykehuset i Tromsø (RST) og frem til i dag. Sykehuset og utdanningen har samarbeidet tett gjennom hele perioden. Samfunnsforhold og samfunnets behov for kreftsykepleiere er med som et bakteppe gjennom artikkelen.
