Over veien : en romlig analyse av relasjoner mellom Walton Breck Christ Church og Anfield Stadium
ForfatterSollid, Brynjar Labugt
Based on four months of fieldwork in Liverpool, this ethnographic thesis looks at relations between Walton Breck Christ Church (WBCC) and Anfield Stadium. WBCC, a part of the Church of England, is situated just across the road from the home stadium of Liverpool FC. Because of the geographical proximity, a number of relations occur. The stadium is the cornerstone business in the neighbourhood, and has a great effect on the economy of the church parish. Football matches draw over forty thousand spectators, thirty times a year, to the streets around WBCC. The building of a new stadium plays a central role in local regeneration plans. These and several other relations are described and analysed using a spatial theory approach inspired by Kim Knott’s The Location of Religion (2005).
