    • Cerebral cortical dimensions in headache sufferers aged 50-66 years: a population-based imaging study in the Nord-Trondelag Health Study (HUNT-MRI)

Husøy, Andreas Kattem; Håberg, Asta Kristine; Rimol, Lars Morten; Hagen, Knut; Vangberg, Torgil Riise; Stovner, Lars Jacob (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2019-07)
Based on previous clinic-based magnetic resonance imaging studies showing regional differences in the cerebral cortex between those with and without headache, we hypothesized that headache sufferers have a decrease in volume, thickness, or surface area in the anterior cingulate cortex, prefrontal cortex, and insula. In addition, exploratory analyses on volume, thickness, and surface area across the ...
    • Pinngortitaq – a place of becoming

Lennert, Ann Eileen; Berge, Jørgen (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2019-01)
Arctic ecosystems are on the verge of changes that are unprecedented in both magnitude and velocity. We stress that statements of a changing climate and environment have ambiguous definitions in both theoretical and metaphorical senses. Inuit have embraced the idea of an environment in a process of Pinngortitaq – a place of becoming – rather than a process of changing. In this note, we accentuate ...
    • An introduction to Nanosyntax

Taraldsen, Knut Tarald (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2019-12-11)
This article provides an introduction to Nanosyntax – an approach to the syntax/lexicon interaction originating from work by Michal Starke. I present some of the motivation for allowing lexical items to replace whole phrases rather than only terminal elements, present the basic principles taken to govern the lexicalization procedure and show how syncretism patterns are handled in Nanosyntax.
    • Hip Structure Analyses in Acromegaly: Decrease of Cortical Bone Thickness After Treatment: A Longitudinal Cohort Study

Godang, Kristin; Lekva, Tove; Normann, Kjersti Ringvoll; Olarescu, Nicoleta Cristina; Øystese, Kristin Astrid; Kolnes, Anders Jensen; Ueland, Thor; Bollerslev, Jens; Heck, Ansgar (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2019-10-03)
Long‐standing growth hormone (GH) excess causes the skeletal clinical signs of acromegaly with typical changes in bone geometry, including increased cortical bone thickness (CBT). However, a high prevalence and incidence of vertebral fractures has been reported. The aim of this study was to assess the course of cortical bone dimensions in the hip by comparing patients with acromegaly and clinically ...
    • Heteronormativity Prevails: A Study of Sexuality in Norwegian Social Work Bachelor Programs

Hernes-Giertsen, Merethe (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2019-04-12)

The purpose of the review was to examine whether heteronormativity was problematized in social work curricula. A keyword search revealed that sexuality was addressed in only 0.08% of curriculum materials in the 2013–2014 academic year (90 pages). Among the 6 articles identified that addressed ...
    • “L” Stands for Language

Slabakova, Roumyana (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2019-01-16)
A key premise of a transdisciplinary perspective on SLA, as articulated by the Douglas Fir Group (2016), is the usage-based approach to language acquisition. In this commentary, I make the case for a generative linguistic theory-based approach to language acquisition. While both approaches are at the cognitive core of the development process, I show that experience-based predictions are sometimes ...

Borch, Iris Helene; Sandvoll, Ragnhild; Risør, Torsten (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2020-01-17)
Student evaluation of teaching is a multipurpose tool that aims to improve and assure educational quality. Improved teaching and student learning are central to educational enhancement. However, use of evaluation data for these purposes is less robust than expected. This paper explores how students and teachers perceive how different student evaluation methods at a Norwegian university invite students ...

Li, XM; Zhu, YJ; Ringø, Einar; Yang, DG (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2017)
Real-time quantitative PCR (qPCR) was performed to elucidate the abundance of <i>Aeromonas hydrophila</i> and <i>Pseudomonas fluorescens</i>, which are among the most widespread fish pathogens in ponds. Both pathogens have three different breeding patterns, namely, (a) gibel carp (<i>Carassius auratus gibelio</i>), (b) yellow catfish (<i>Pelteobagrus fulvidraco</i>), and (c) black carp (<i>Mylopharyngodon ...

There is no consensus on the definition of an exaggerated increase in systolic blood pressure (SBP) during exercise. The aim was to explore a potential threshold for exercise SBP associated with increased risk of coronary heart disease in healthy men using repeated exercise testing. Two thousand fourteen healthy white male employees were recruited into the Oslo Ischemia Study during early 1970s. At ...
    • Framing the land of the Northern Lights

White, Paul; Morgan, Nigel; Pritchard, Annette; Heimtun, Bente (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2019-07-10)
The development of affinities between the production and consumption of people and place is crucial for tourism development. We trouble front and backstage distinctions to examine how destinations are framed and critically explore the power of the imaginary in shaping how individuals apprehend and in turn create social worlds. Combining critical discourse analysis with stakeholder interviews, we ...

Datamaterialet er innhentet gjennom kvalitative intervjuer med barnevernledere. ...
    • World Government, Social Contract and Legitimacy

Abumere, Frank Aragbonfoh (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2019-05-22)
The notion of world government is anathema to most political theorists. This is the case due to the arguments that a world government is infeasible, undesirable and unnecessary. This threefold argument is partly predicated on the assumption that in world politics the larger a geographical and political entity is, the greater the chance of it becoming unstable, ungovernable and, ultimately, illegitimate. ...

Det er påvist en rekke encellede og ...
