      Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCPyV) is the major cause of Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC), an aggressive skin cancer. MCPyV large T-antigen (LTag) and small T-antigen (sTag) are the main oncoproteins involved in MCPyV-induced MCC.
