Cells in living organisms are dynamic compartments that continuously respond to changes in their environment to maintain physiological homeostasis. While basal autophagy exists in cells to aid in the regular turnover of intracellular material, autophagy is also a critical cellular response to stress, such as nutritional depletion. Conversely, the deregulation of autophagy is linked to several diseases, ...
    • Krisebevissthet og medisinsk leseevne

Eriksen, Thor Eirik; Ekeland, Tor Johan; Getz, Linn Okkenhaug; Sørbø, Jan Inge; Ulvestad, Elling; Vetlesen, Arne Johan; Kirkengen, Anna Luise (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2023-09-14)

Kadek, Marius; Konecny, Lukas; Repisky, Michal (Chapter; Bokkapittel, 2023-10-25)
Recent advances in laser technology enable to follow electronic motion at its natural time-scale with ultrafast pulses, leading the way towards atto- and femtosecond spectroscopic experiments of unprecedented resolution. Understanding of these laser-driven processes, which almost inevitably involve non-linear light-matter interactions and non-equilibrium electron dynamics, is challenging and requires ...
    • Klimaaftryk af overdiagnostik

Jønsson, Alexandra Brandt Ryborg; Brodersen, John (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2023-11-13)

Estimation of chlorophyll (CHL) using ocean colour remote sensing (OCRS) signals in coastal waters is difficult due to the presence of two other constituents altering the light signal: coloured dissolved organic material (CDOM) and mineral suspended sediments (MSS). Artificial neural networks (NNs) have the capacity to deal with signal complexity and are a potential solution to the problem. Here ...
    • Arctic Pedagogy

Waterman-Evans, Louis (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2023-12-19)
The concept of an ‘Arctic Pedagogy’ is enticing. Arctic branding sells: for example, UiT is not just the ‘University of Tromsø’ but also the ‘The Arctic University of Norway’. Moreover, research in Scotland as part of the ‘New Northern Pedagogies Project’ is now investigating “how the principles of Arctic Pedagogy can support teacher education provision across Scotland”. Such conversations invite ...

Henriksen, Jan-Erik; Larsen, Tone (Chapter; Bokkapittel, 2023)
