The convergence of society and technology in our digital era has resulted in the development of electronic heath record (EHR) that allows accurate and systematized collection of patient health information in a digital format. Implementing of EHR is not only a transition from analog to electronically stored data but also reorganization of medical staff that in many cases may lead to various experiences. The problem statement of this thesis is: “How does medical staff experience the implementation of EHR in one municipality”. In order to analyse these experiences Normalization Process Theory has been applied. The data collection consists of conducted qualitative interviews with supplementary survey. The main result is that even fully normalized complex interventions may lead to “painful” experience among medical staff, something that is object of discussion in this thesis. Thus, according to collected data, one normalized intervention is not necessary a successful one.
