The three cores underwent benthic foraminiferal studies in combination with stable isotope analysis of (δ18O and δ ...
    • Palladium(0)-Catalyzed Cross-Couplings of 2-Bromophosphinine

Kostenko, Nataliya; Eriksson, Cecilia; Engqvist, Magnus; Villa Gonzalez, Susana; Bayer, Annette (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2013-05-21)
A new Negishi-type cross-coupling of 2-bromophosphinine has been developed. The new method expands the scope of palladium-catalyzed couplings to monobromophosphinines, which have been considered as poor substrates so far. Moreover, aryl-, alkenyl-, and alkynylzinc bromides were found to be effective coupling partners.

    • Papirbretting som geometrisk verktøy Utforsket ved hjelp av Gröbner-basiser og anvendt i skoleundervisning

Eskeland, Ingar Wesenberg (Mastergradsoppgave; Master thesis, 2022-05-30)

    • Parameter-Free Extended Edit Distance

Muhammad Fuad, Muhammad Marwan (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2014)
The edit distance is the most famous distance to compute the similarity between two strings of characters. The main drawback of the edit distance is that it is based on local procedures which reflect only a local view of similarity. To remedy this problem we presented in a previous work the extended edit distance, which adds a global view of similarity between two strings. However, the extended edit ...
    • Parasites from cod in two different localities, the Barents Sea and Øksfjord in the coastal region of northern Norway. A comparison

Løvland, Ann Beate (Master thesis; Mastergradsoppgave, 2017-06-29)
Parasites have been given a prominent role in ecology because of their potential to influence ecosystem dynamics. Parasite-host interactions are important in understanding host population dynamics and ecological processes. The marine environment is the largest ecosystem in the world, and between the coastal realm and the open water realm exists great ecological variances. Because parasites encompass ...

    • A Parsimonious Description and Cross-Country Analysis of COVID-19 Epidemic Curves

Rypdal, Kristoffer; Rypdal, Martin (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2020-09-06)
In a given country, the cumulative death toll of the first wave of the COVID-19 epidemic follows a sigmoid curve as a function of time. In most cases, the curve is well described by the Gompertz function, which is characterized by two essential parameters, the initial growth rate and the decay rate as the first epidemic wave subsides. These parameters are determined by socioeconomic factors and ...

    • Particle tracking in 3D

Brox, Petter (Master thesis; Mastergradsoppgave, 2013-06)
The evanescent field of an optical waveguide can be used to trap and propel microscopic particles. A 1µm particle is trapped on a strip waveguide and propelled forward until it reaches a 10µm gap at the centre of a loop, created by splitting the waveguide into two branches. According to simulations, the particle will be elevated 3µm in the gap and be stably trapped in the middle of the gap. The goal ...
