Double object constructions: passive verbs
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2014-08-22)In the North Germanic languages there are at least two highly interesting issues tied to passive double object verbs: 1. The promotion symmetry: both direct objects and indirect objects can be promoted to subject under passive in many North Germanic varieties. 2. Restrictions on verbs that can take indirect objects in passives: many verbs that take two objects in the active voice, cannot have both ... -

The Middle Field
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2017-08-22)This section covers a wide range of phenomena that are related to what we can call the middle field of the clause. (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2014-07-25)This article focuses on the portrayal of reindeer Sami in the Danish explorer Knud Rasmussen's early book Lapland from 1907, a work that has received relatively little attention in Rasmussen scholarship. His characterizations of the Sami reflect conventional, paternalistic ideas of race and culture at the turn of the century as well as romantic-sentimental conceptions of indigenous peoples as noble ... -

Authenticity – an important property for artistic documents?
(Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2016-01)The notion of authenticity seems to have grown more and more important for artistic documents during the last decades. Critics are using the term as a kind of distinction; an authentic novel or film is a good novel or film. Authenticity in these cases does not mean questioning the novel or film as an original work of art; rather, what is meant by authenticity is the relationship between reality and ... -

En ellas, se propone que deben distinguirse tres clases, que se estructuran conforme a dos divisiones: con reduplicación obligatoria o sin ella, y con alternancia vocálica o sin ella. Se propone que, ...
