• Nasjonalt kvalifikasjonsrammeverk - riktig intensjon, men feil virkemiddel

Ottesen, Gunnar (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2011-02-11)

• The nature of entrepreneurs’ engagement with a layered rural context

Jørgensen, Eva Jenny B.; Mathisen, Line (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2023-01-22)
Rural entrepreneurship has recently been reconceptualised as engagement with contexts. However, our knowledge of the nature of this engagement remains limited. In this paper, we explore the engagement of entrepreneurs hired as part-time industry mentors at regional universities. Using a qualitative approach based on grounded theory and self-ethnography, we interviewed five entrepreneurs in adjunct ...
• Nature reserves as a bioeconomic management tool. A simplified modeling approach

Flåten, Ola; Mjølhus, Einar (Working paper; Arbeidsnotat, 2006-02)
This paper demonstrates analytically how a nature reserve may protect the total population, realize maximum sustainable yield (MSY), maximum economic yield (MEY) and consumer surplus (CS) and how this depends on biological growth, migration, reserve size and economic parameters. The pre-reserve population is assumed to follow the logistic growth law and two post-reserve growth models are discussed. ...
• The networked handling of rush orders in customer services

Engelseth, Per; White, Brian E. (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2020)
Rush orders are characterised by time constraints and organisational priority. They are handled by the supplier with the aim of meeting customer requirements in as limited a timeframe as possible. Rather than focusing on rush orders as a deterministic planning problem, this paper takes an inter-organisational perspective that highlights the complex networked interactions between the supplier and the ...
• Nonstationary and Chaotic Dynamics in Age-Structured Population Models

Wikan, Arild; Kristensen, Ørjan (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2017-08-06)
The dynamics from nonlinear discrete age-structured population models is under consideration. Focus is on bifurcations, as well as nonstationary and chaotic dynamics. We also explore different mechanisms which may lead to periodic phenomena. Some new results are also presented, in particular from models where both fecundity and survival terms contain nonlinear elements.

• A note on measuring the effects of exchange rate changes on Norwegian exports of seafood

Myrland, Øystein (Working paper; Arbeidsnotat, 2002-09)
The purpose of this note is to develop a very simple, yet consistent structural model of the Norwegian seafood trade that highlights how trade flows and prices are affected by changes in exchange rates. By using a class of models called Equilibrium Displacement Models (EDM’s) the model is solved for the reduced-form elasticities to indicate the effects exchange rates changes has on producer ...
• A note on the ecological-economic modelling of marine reserves in fisheries

Armstrong, Claire W. (Working paper; Arbeidsnotat, 2006-03)
This paper gives an overview of bioeconomic modelling of marine reserves, and illustrates how economists have responded to the modelling results found in the ecological literature. The economic analysis is shown to be far more pessimistic with regard to the potential of marine reserves as a fisheries management tool, than what one finds in the purely ecological analysis, the reason being the ...
• Novelty in tourism experiences: the influence of physical staging and human interaction on behavioural intentions

Blomstervik, Ingvild; Prebensen, Nina Katrine; Campos, Ana Claudia; Pinto, Patricia (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2020-12-15)
Tourists’ tendency to choose new and different experiences and destinations is well known in tourism research and practice. By drawing on social exchange theory and service-dominant logic, the present study investigates how physical staging and human interaction influence behavioural intentions in experiences with varying levels of novelty. This relationship is tested using survey data collected ...
• Nursing Care Plan for a Newborn with the Defect of Congenital Gastroschisis in the Postoperative Period Using ICNPTM and the Dedicated Software

Szydłowska-Pawlak, Paulina; Barszczewska, Olga; Sołtysiak, iZABELA; Librowska, Barbara; Engelseth, Per; Kozlowski, Remiguisz; Marczak, Michał; Kila ´nska, Dorota (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2022-03-16)
Background: Congenital defect gastroschisis manifests as a defect in the sheath in the intestine of the newborn, which is not covered by the hernia sac. In this case, the priority task of the neonatal nurse is to diagnose patient care problems quickly and accurately. Choosing the correct care plan elements has a significant impact on shortening the duration of hospitalization, reducing the number ...
• Nursing staff’s evaluation of facilitators and barriers during implementation of wireless nurse call systems in residential care facilities. A cross-sectional study

Dugstad, Janne H; Sundling, Vibeke; Nilsen, Etty Ragnhild; Eide, Hilde (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2020-03-04)
Background - Traditional nurse call systems used in residential care facilities rely on patients to summon assistance for routine or emergency needs. Wireless nurse call systems (WNCS) offer new affordances for persons unable to actively or consciously engage with the system, allowing detection of hazardous situations, prevention and timely treatment, as well as enhanced nurse workflows. ...
• Ny plan for bachelor i økonomi og administrasjon uten vitenskapelig forankring

Ottesen, Gunnar (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2012)

Abdollahi, Hooman (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2023-05-05)
In this paper, we develop semantic-based sentiment indices through relevant news and Twitter feeds for oil market using a state-of-the-art natural language processing technique. We investigate the predictability of crude oil price volatility using the novel sentiment indices through a hybrid structure consisting of generalized autoregressive conditional heteroskedasticity and bidirectional long ...
• On rational forward-looking behavior in economic geography: An experimental analysis

Barreda-Tarrazona, Iván; Kundu, Tapas; Østbye, Stein (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2021-02-05)
This paper adapts the canonical New Economic Geography model for experimental testing of the model's behavioral assumptions by developing a finite-player, finite-horizon dynamic game of migration. Our analysis gives distinctive predictions when migration is consistent with myopic behavior (MB) and when it is consistent with sequentially rational or perfect forward-looking behavior (FB). These ...
• On the economics of ecological nuisance

Schulz, Carl-Erik; Skonhoft, Anders (Working paper; Arbeidsnotat, 2005-03)
This paper analyses the economics of pest and nuisance relating to wild animals. It studies stylised models where wild animals represent a direct nuisance to agricultural production through grazing and crop damage. Such damage is particularly relevant in poor rural communities, where people are dependent on livestock and crop production and at the same time are living close to nature and wildlife. ...
• On the Interplay between Cannibalism and Harvest in Stage-Structured Population Models

Wikan, Arild (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2015-06-17)
By use of a nonlinear stage-structured population model the role of cannibalism and the combined role of cannibalism and harvest have been explored. Regarding the model, we prove that in most parts of parameter space it is permanent. We also show that the transfer from stability to nonstationary dynamics always occurs when the unique stable equilibrium undergoes a supercritical Neimark-Sacker (Hopf) ...

• Overgangsjustis i Telemark 1945-1952

Borge, Baard Herman; Vaale, Lars-Erik (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2023-10-06)
